The recognition event was sponsored by the North Country Schools Administrators Association and North Country Education Services. White Mountains Regional High School hosted the event with students from the WMRHS preparing the refreshments for the reception.

Digital Tools in the Classroom
This course exposes participants to various technology tools such as Google Docs, sound recording, animation, movie making and photo editing software. Participants will learn to create animations, sound recordings and movies with readily available, free software. Using these skills, participants will connect the use of technology to curriculum objectives and understand how to incorporate the ISTE ICT standards into student activities. The final projects will demonstrate the participant's ability to create student activities that foster critical thinking, meet curriculum objectives and use engaging software. Through this course, students will also discover how to assess technology based activities and learn how to incorporate the use of web 2.0 tools for collaboration and delivery of their projects.
This will be a three credit course through Plymouth State University.

Impact Learning Through Videoconferencing
This videoconference seminar provides teachers, administrators, and technical staff an overview of the various components of videoconferencing, its potential, the resources available, and the strategies to make a videoconference project successful. Participants will experience virtual field trips, guest speakers, tips to find projects to incorporate into their lessons, and have the opportunity to practice techniques over video. The Institute will be offered in several locations via videoconference and will be facilitated by experienced and knowledgeable instructors.

DIBELS - Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills
DIBELS Essential training provides participants with an understanding of the foundations of DIBELS as well as training in administration and scoring of the measures. This training includes an overview of how and why the measures were developed, the features that differentiate DIBELS from other commonly-used assessments, and the linkage of DIBELS to the basic early literacy skills. Participants will learn how to use DIBELS data for educational decision making. This training is intended for anyone who will have responsibility for administering and scoring DIBELS.

Consolidated Grant Application Technical Assistance
The NH Department of Education is offering a series of regional workshops to provide technical assistance to train staff who will be completing NCLB Title applications for 2009-10. Bring your computers and your questions. Work time has been built into the schedule. Titles I, II-A, III, IV and V will be reviewed. Laura Douillette, NCLB accountant, will be present to answer questions about the fiscal process.

Project SUCCESS
Project SUCCESS (Schools Using Coordinated Community Efforts to Strengthen Students) is designed to prevent and reduce substance use among students 12 to 18 years of age. The program was originally developed for students attending alternative high schools who are at high risk for substance use and abuse due to poor academic performance, truancy, discipline problems, negative attitudes toward school, and parental substance abuse. In recent years, Project SUCCESS has been used in regular middle and high schools for a broader range of high-risk students.
This training will be offered at NCES in September 2009 with limited availability.

These video conferenced sessions are to provide a context for users to ask questions of each other and to share experiences including tips, tricks and best practices regarding the development and support of Performance Tracker.
