Your own beautiful yoga retreat center & solar home
From time to time, something comes my way that I want to share with you.  This is one such thing -  Fellow Kripalu yogi Noel Abbott is moving south and selling his amazing home / reteat center.  This is what he wrote:

Have you have ever wanted your own beautiful place in the country with gorgeous panoramic views?  What if it included an exquisite yoga studio in the mountains?

Sky of Light Center is that place.  People consistently remark on how peaceful they feel just by stepping on the land. The person who owned this property for seventeen years before me is a Tibetan Tulku and was with the Dalai Lama when he fled from China. He said that he bought it because it reminded him of Tibet.

Just a few of the features:
·      Quiet and peaceful – very much in the country yet accessible to NYC.
·      The Passive Solar home main home is an energy efficient perfectly designed combination of wood, glass, and stone.
·      The yoga studio is right nearby.
·      Flower garden in front of the Yoga Studio.
·      Vegetable frames and separate garden.
·      Pond and cabin with their own entrance at the lower property.
·      Electric is buried underground, leaving the view free and open.
·      100+ acres of open fields right across the road.

Sky of Light Center is located in the Town of Rensselaerville, New York about 2 ½ hours North of the city by car and many city residents have second homes here. It’s also an area with an active community and a rich artistic tradition. This New York Times article about our nearby neighbors will give you an idea:
We have lowered the price to $360,000 but because I’ve made a clear decision to sell I am flexible on pricing.

If you have ever wanted a place in the country that was both a home and a retreat center, this is a rare opportunity. You can have an extraordinary haven, a great retreat center, and an inspiring place for yourself.

Yogabody by Judith Lasater
If you haven't seen this book yet, you are missing out.  Yogabody is detailed and accessible.  Great illustrations of the musculoskeletal system.  Lasater explains how and why yoga practitioners can get into trouble with postural alignment.  Each chapter covers the bones, joints, connective tissue, nerves, muscles, kinesiology and experiental anatomy.  I am half way through the book and I've already picked up several valuable tips.

Since my special interest is muliple sclerosis and how it affects the body, I found one small reference to MS on page 11 that appears to have an editing error.  MS is a disease that attacks the myelin sheath of central nervous system nerves not the peripheral nerves.  Since MS is referred to under the section on peripheral nerves, I'm guessing this is an editing error.

Endorsements, recommendations, quotes
Recently a yoga teacher asked me if I obtain permission or receive payment for any of the links I provide or quotes that I include.  The answer is no.  I include information that comes to me or I share something that I really find useful.  I give credit when I do this.  Once in a while, I include a partner link, such as the Bandha Yoga link.  I love this website and it offers an affiliate program so I signed up for that.
