Every once in a while I come across something new and wonderful in Guelph. I like to spread the word and share these special places with everyone. Guelph has a new yoga studio called Moksah Yoga Guelph located in a beautifully renovated building at 78 Norfolk Street. They have patiently opened their doors and created a place of tranquility in the midst of the chaos that has been created by the lengthy and noisy street construction on Norfolk Street.  

The mission of the Moksha studio is to create a safe, calming space in which to practice a yoga series that inspires, relaxes and energizes.

 

Moksha hot yoga is a unique yoga series that combines therapeutic yoga and the foundations of traditional yoga in a specially heated room. The series is a cardiovascular workout that strengthens tones and loosens the muscles, while calming the mind and stress.

 

The 'hot' in hot yoga allows for deep, safe stretching and promotes detoxification of the skin, blood and muscles through sweat. Classes are suitable for all levels of ability, even absolute beginners with limited flexibility! This has been very helpful for this budding Yogini.

The other wonderful service I have had the opportunity to avail myself to is "Thai Yoga Massage". The studios director Kelly Romanick is a gifted body worker and offers an exquisite Thai Yoga session. Her ability to listen to the body makes the session pure bliss. One way I like to describe a session is that it is, lazy mans Yoga... like having someone doing yoga for you... all you have to do is show up. The thing I really liked about it is that is allowed me to go deeper into the places in the body where I am holding. The with Kelly's perfect timing and sensitivity...  just release it.
