Google Unveils New Music Search Feature
Google and the major music labels have launched a breakthrough music search feature to help fans discover, listen to and buy digital tracks through Google’s search engine.
Now when fans search for their favorite artists or songs at Google.com, a number of legal ways to acquire the music -- from pop-up song streaming windows to fully licensed site suggestions – appear first in search. Partners in the new initiative include online music sources lala, MySpace Music’s iLike, Rhapsody, Pandora Radio and imeem.

Performers Secure a Victory
The Senate Judiciary Committee recently approved the Performance Rights Act, legislation designed to close a loophole in copyright law that allows FM radio stations to earn billions of dollars each year without paying artists and record labels.
The act, also passed by the House Judiciary Committee in June, is backed by the musicFIRST coalition – a partnership of artists and organizations in the music community who support compensating performers for their work when it's played over the air.
Visit the coalition’s website today to learn more about the Performance Rights campaign, its supporting musicians, and how to get involved.
