GREETINGS OF THE SEASON ...
I have had quite a month ... opportunities to play with Saul David Raye at the Ram Dass Retreat on Mau'i, Studio Maui, and kirtan / yoga class on Kaua'i, with Leilah Be during zikr, with Fantuzzi for the Raw Spirit Festival, and more have filled my heart, body and soul. The wind, sun, water, friendships, aloha spirit, and sacred land of these islands have brought me to today, the culmination of so much beautiful music, poignant experiences, a week under the power of the solstice full blue moon, a time of inquiry, reflection, confusion, insights into what might be ahead for me, where my passion is residing at this moment, what is true for me at this juncture in my life. As we celebrate, mark, meditate, chant, and dance our way into this new cycle of growth and discovery, may we be filled with the energy of transformation, of higher consciousness, of more poignant vibration, love and joy, internally and externally ... MIGUEL ANGEL VERGARA: Miguel Angel has dedicated his life to the study and practice of the sacred wisdom of the Maya. He teaches us how to connect with the Masters of Light who are still here to guide us now, as in ancient times. He goes to the source of the Maya knowledge; the ceremonies, rituals, mantras, sacred books, pyramids, temples, stele, pottery, paintings, sculptures, and oral traditions that are available today to find the essence of their knowledge then teaches in a heart-centered style that connects rapidly and profoundly with his students. Miguel Angel’s mission is to share the sacred Maya teachings through the study of their philosophy, art, science, and religion.
JUDY PIAZZA: Judy has been exploring music and sound for over 35 years as educator, researcher, music therapist, performer, workshop presenter and recording artist, with rhythm and voice guiding her fascination and firing her creative and musical passions for over 15 years. Her artistry is rooted in the rhythmic and vocal wisdom traditions of indigenous cultures from around the world. Her fascination with the Maya began years ago when she noticed the figures at the sacred sites looked similar to those she had seen in India, a fascination that prompted her to share and integrate the Yoga of Sound methods (mantra and chant) along with Maya cosmology during five years of collaboration with Miguel Angel and Iluminado Tours. She has also performed / taught on Bali with Tribal Music Tour Retreats, Bali Spirit Festival, and has performed at The Kennedy Center, the National Women's Music Festival, Bhakti Fest, and others. Skilled in the art of drumming and the healing arts of sound, Judy draws you into the realm of your own possibilities of beauty, power, and well being. She creates resonance & rhythms that excite the spirit, calm the mind, expand the heart, and feed the body.

Rhythm & Relaxation Extension in beautiful Tulum
APRIL 23-27
Following the journey join me for some days of drumming, devotional chant, and relaxation on the beautiful white-sand beaches of Tulum. The turquoise waters of the Caribbean, palm trees, sunshine, and refreshing breezes along with rhythm and mantra will work their magic on your body, mind, and spirit. The extension is an opportunity for integration, deep rest, more mantra (daily Yoga of Sound sessions), and drum instruction (minimum of six hours throughout extension ... individual lessons available for extra fee). All sessions will be optional to allow you to follow your body rhythms. Drums focused on will include djembe, doumbek, and frame drums.
