Appalachian Clogging/ Flat Footing classes
Starting Tuesday, January 12 and running through Tuesday, February 2, 2010:
5:25-6:25 (Level 1 and 2)
This is a class for beginners and also those who know some of the basics. I
will be starting from ground zero but I will also introduce variations on
the basic steps for those who have them mastered - perhaps a different
styling for the same step or some extra sounds to insert.
6:30-7:30 (Advanced)
This class is for those who are beyond basics and are comfortable with full
Tennessee Walking Step (with all its extra sounds), chugging steps,
syncopations, and styling who are ready to create new step combinations,
improvise to different old-time tunes, play with pauses, and perfect timing.
Each 4-class series is $48 or $13/class.

Beginner East Coast Swing / Jitterbug Class starting January 13th, and
continuing Wednesday nights (Jan 20th and 27th) at 7:30pm at the Asheville
Arts Center. In the beginning class, our goal is to get the absolute beginner looking
good and confident doing swing dance in three weeks. We keep this class
simple and uncomplicated by using single step 6-count footwork and progress
through the movements in a very logical way. Stephanie and Mark are great

Asheville Culture Project - Asheville's new cultural arts community center
is now in operation. We are currently offering classes in Capoeira Angola,
Samba percussion will begin in January. We are inviting other instructors,
groups, and organizations to join us at this time to help collaborate in the
