Happy New Year, Register for Winter Session, and Open House

Dear Friends,

I wish you all a very happy 2010!

The Winter Session begins Monday, January 4th, and you can still register for classes through Saturday, January 10th.

However, early registrations help guarantee that you will have a place in your desired class. For example:
  • A few classes have just a few spots remaining.

  • If you want to take either the 11:45 or the 3:45 class on Thursday, please call the office (608-784-2622) and let us know as soon as you can. Right now there are only a few students registered for each of those classes. Remember, if the 11:45 class is a second class for you, it only costs $30 for the session.

We are having our annual Open House this Sunday, January 10th from 3-5 pm.  There is a sign up sheet at The Yoga Place or you can email us if you plan to come; please just let us know how many people will attend with you.  Everyone is welcome but we need to have an idea of numbers so we can prepare plenty of snacks!

The Open House is a nice time to gather with fellow yoga students and taste some Indian snacks.  Also, feel free to bring your friends who might be interested in taking classes at The Yoga Place.

For this year’s Open House, I need volunteers for a few things:

  • Decorating on Friday after the ageless class (around noon),
  • Setting up after Saturday’s class on January 9th,
  • Greeting people as they arrive on Sunday,
  • Help serving, and
  • Help cleaning up.

Decorating, set-up, and cleaning up might take a little longer but for serving and greeting I would plan 30 minute shifts.  Please email me at chris@yogalacrosse.com if you can volunteer.

I am also looking for a handyperson who I can call to help me with things like changing fluorescent lights, fixing a faulty lock or handle on the toilet etc.  If anyone could be on call and would be willing to do such minor maintenance jobs, please let me know.

Please remember that we seldom cancel classes but occasionally have to due to weather.  If classes are cancelled, we put a message on our answering machine at least an hour before class and we have it announced on Z-93 at the end of the school closings.  It will also be on the website IF I can get in touch with my website manager (Galadriel Chilton) soon enough.

Unfortunately, we have had our petty cash stolen twice – once last year and now just recently.  Last year we had the locks changed but we cannot do that every year.  Until we can figure out the best way to deal with this, we won’t be able to make change for awhile.  So if you are dropping in to a class or plan to buy something, you will need correct change or a check. I apologize for this inconvenience and hope that we can get the matter resolved. Also, we will be more diligent about locking the doors after the first 10 minutes of class to prevent anyone unknown to us from just walking in.  This will require some of you to get a little better about being on time!

I look forward to seeing you in class this week or at the Open House!

Sincerely,
Chris Saudek
Director and Instructor
