Dr. Laurie was asked about problems with Intimacy. The person stated that her partner did not know how to experience intimacy. This is an expert from Dr. Laurie’s reply:

One way to approach problems with others’ approaches to intimacy (emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual) is to note that every creature is intimate with her/ his source. S/he does this with the unique characteristics given to her /him by LIFE! This is what makes that person him or herself.

Some times we become committed to the prospect of people and situations being our way (i.e. some way our body/ mind thinks we need for happiness). Really we are only aiming to maintain control. We forget all else and miss the hidden gems life is bringing via people and occurrences.

One time I listened to a person who was so committed to having everything in her life meet her own needs for comfort that she forgot to notice others’ needs! She never learned the blessings of sacrifice for others. She became compulsively and perpetually frustrated. She was missing the greatest happiness life was offering while she was busy searching. She was preoccupied with trying to change others and change situations to her advantage. Actually I know a variety of people who experience situations like this to some degree. I have found myself in such errors many times in subtle ways, then feeling the sorryness of what I create with this attitude, taken over by the aim to do better.

One day I was watching a dog who was so committed to finding a stick that it appeared she forgot all else! As my heart felt into her being, it was evident that she had forgotten nothing. She was simply doing her job as called forth in the highest interest of all life everywhere... it was a matter of love and direction toward SOURCE CREATOR/CREATION via a stick. With this commitment she was so happy every time she reunited with her stick that she had no room to think about changing the stick, the surrounding trees or the Earth below her feet into anything else. She loved all as they were and benefited greatly!

I wish to share something personal now. The deepest act of intimacy God gives me with my mate Ray is the long term opportunity (which is created of many moment to moment opportunities) to learn to love him in my loving God~Goddess. This entails noting where I fall short; noting that his job as determined by creator is different than mine thus his view point has gems I will miss if I do not look closely. As I feel it, Every creature is intimate with her or his source and when some one does not go about his or her life in our expected ways, we have a beautiful opportunity to see the interplay of love, focus, dedication, patience and JOY between that being and his/her source which is our Source. In this seeing is great love and intimacy!!!! It is miraculously fulfilling to know the waves of this love in service to those we love.

As Ray holds this belief toward me as well, good things happen and intimacy can mean just being in each others’ presence quietly. That goes very very deep in heart and soul.

Last I wish to share this~I am in love with the weather, an intimate companion. How I trust her/him to brighten the light so that I may hold a big Satsang at home each Spring is with faith and amazement. I am dependent upon her/his warmth. This year s/he has come and gone in odd patterns as s/he is part of everyone (and we have become a planet in odd patterns) so I cannot plan in the way I am used too. I can ask her/him for support. However, one day it is Summer and the next Winter. So I make a fire and decide to neglect my ideas to control the weather for my own gain and simply give forgiveness (though it turns out in giving this forgiveness that there is nothing to forgive...the weather is doing her/his job as meant! S/he is doing so as related to what we have done as humans…it is an intimate interplay going on! ).

I let the weather be (or rather myself be with the weather as is) and my heart softens. Soon I only wish to serve her/his ways for s/he is my love. What fullness this brought; to love my love, the weather. Now s/he has cloaked me in a very gentle and soft coat of warm and caring wind as I walk outside, comforting me in a far more reaching way then I have known. This gives me strength to reach out and attend to others' needs and questions and wonderfulness. Some may say this is a metaphor but I find it to be a tangible reality, softer and softer each time I serve my friend the weather, a child of God. The loving coat weather brings is tangibly felt. It is deep intimacy given via SOURCE via the weather.

A friend of mine, Sh. Ahmed says to me regularly, “live for giving (forgiving) not for getting (forgetting)!” One day, when teaching in Hilo the depth of this statement came clear in deeper waters of my being. The only option in each moment is to give that which serves ALL else fully. It is ultimately fulfillingness. It is the momentary opportunity consistently. In this there is only one of us (as Ken Ohme often says)..

I realized all else the mind created (other than this surrender to LOVE in givingness which is receivingness) was in habitual effort to think I was separate from this LOVE that is allowing my service toward him/her; a fabrication to make my mind think it was an "I" via causing sensations in by body, visual images as circumstances in my glance. Hence, missing the musical orchestrations of love all over occurring when “I” was distracted in this way.

As Laurie was evident as only a wave in the entire existence of a room which was one being, the little mind of Laurie played a few songs like an old jute box. But a larger music played all…some call it metaphor but I am sure the world is an orchestra literally: all beings together...listen deep into your heart and you shall find the universe of multiple tones and an angelic choir!!!! .

Each state of grace is a moment long and the practice of giving is the call now and now and now.

May you be fulfilled and happy in the deepest ways of giving...

I like to forgive and be forgiven as regularly as taking showers...not to negate our wonderfulness but to keep depely clean in beauty of this love....if this serves you, please receive and if not, please release...

Please forgive me if I confused you in any way at any time.
I find myself, now, with a way to say what I wish to share very simply and in general to EVERYONE!!! (The same thing I have said feels called forth in
another writing).

The world is only a dream. In this dream is a continual every-moment chance to open into God (Self/Universal FLOW) beyond I. When we do, each situation brings forth immense love and peace (even in a flow of emotions that are sad, or joyful or anything else).

But the minute we make anything else (i.e people, needed situations, drugs, alcohol, our story, our identity, our temporary emotional states, our temporary experiences, sex, food, excitement, a job, what we do, what we have, what we experience, who we are) more important than that surrender to this moment, here is what happens instead of love and peace:

1. Suffering
2. Attempts to find new and more an more subtle ways to control which an cause a high or a temporary satisfaction followed eventually by despair.

It is the human condition and the way out is to surrender to what is.
The way to create suffering and karma is to manipulate.

Everyone is given the means by which to experiment from this. ALL of us make CONSTANT mistakes which gives way to change; hence life provides us with ample opportunity to say, “Thank you, I love you, Forgive me, I am sorry, " to others which is really to ourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It doesn't make anyone right or wrong or different.

No teacher is above this. A good teacher shares his or her own experiences with this humbly. I pick teachers who are able to do so with me. I share blessings, thanking, loving, forgiving but moving on from the rest.

A few humans, take the opportunity into the opening deeper and deeper and find peace in the erasing
of their identity rather than the false building of it. Not as a smooth path, as a bumpy one with a learning curve in Heaven.

In my passion to help anyone learn this, if I have caused any hurt, harm or error I truly apologize .

Many have understood my message and some have misunderstood my message and that too is part of the learning and life’s blessings of love…for them and for me.
I wish all beings only goodness and a path of love.

REPORT ON THE LAST GATHERING
Today's gathering was sacred and sweet, full of people who were very focused in love, respect to Creation/Creator. ..immense deep silence to start. It is a profound blessing that so many times month after month, year after year, without fail, the environment and energy takes people to immediate reverence and love, spiritual respect for life, one another in these gatherings; thanks to God, Goddess, Creator, Great Spirit, Allah swt.

I had not been able to to replicate what occurs in seminar when I am in teacher role, in the office and team projects as manager. Of course this was unfair to everyone and very heart wrenching. I aimed to work this out in every way I could for years with little success… to the point of comedy…luckily laughter was always available for many of us.

I had fired myself but those who asked for the job did not understand it. It has been many months of cleaning on many levels. What is happening now is that a great respect has grown and the teams are working in the behind the scenes work as temple; as is consistently the case at the seminar which was always the responsibility taken.

After making literally hundreds of changes in jobs, and structures and myself, and in directions. I finally made one small shift.
I noticed that in the seminars the focus I have is always God which without effort becomes complete service of heart to each being present. Just Love and all else follows in ease. Very spontaneous in regard to each being present.

In the management role I gave the focus to God first and second, the effectiveness of the work and in that became very demanding with high expectations and lost focus; some how not serving the people.
I changed the order to match the seminar.

I am only seeing the most beautiful graciousness , effectiveness, love, ease and service in the offerings of team work that are the new foundation.
Now as a vessel to the light the teams are temple in motion. The companionship that occurs over years in these shared projects has given a beautiful foundation. It is a blessing that people went though all these trials and errors and still come around. Such shift takes them
HOME to heart and soul. The support structures of these events are indeed the temple, thanks to God, Goddess, Creator, Great Spirit, Allah swt.

It is beautiful. I am so grateful to YOU ALL and you ALL helped me very much with this.

1. Doing a lot of outer work without removing their inner blocks~

3. Making the same errors many have made which are good for learning and also eat up time (with the insight of friends and teachers, we can some times find a shorter route!)~

4. Putting will over humility~

5. Overlooking little details that need attention~

6. Not understanding the needs of a mate, a client, a customer, a society (i.e being "me centered")

7. Not understand one's owns needs~
