COME LEARN ABOUT OUR ESTUARY'S SALT-CRISIS AT THE MAY 27 RIVERS COALITION MEETING
We'll be looking for you Thursday, May 27, for a special Rivers Coalition presentation about the St. Lucie Estuary's unwanted and damaging salt-free diet imposed on us by horrendous discharges from inland.

"The Salinity Imperative" will focus on the essential requirement for minimum salinity in the St. Lucie. After all, that's what an estuary is all about--the mixing of salt and fresh water that provides a very special ecosystem.

Scientist Bob Voisinet, who heads up a team of researchers tracking water conditions in the St. Lucie, will explain the functions and needs of salinity. Lately, there have been discharges of hundreds of millions of gallons of polluted fresh water that overwhelms the necessary salt content from the ocean.

Salinity content in the river hovers near zero on many days. That's deadly for oysters and seagrasses, and chases away marine life and birds.

The Rivers Coalition meeting will be at 11 a.m. May 27 at Stuart City Hall, where there will be coffee, donuts and free parking for you.

You can almost hear the oysters pleading for you to take part and demand an end to the ruinous onslaughts of dirty fresh water.

READY FOR A PROGRAM FOR YOUR GROUP?
The Rivers Coalition Speakers Bureau is on the road, appearing before groups and clubs to spread the vital message that we must restore and protect the St. Lucie and Indian River Lagoon. Our values and way of life are at stake.

We can change the game and stop the inundations, but only if we express anger and militancy. Show the door to politicians and bureaucrats who feed us more of the same lame promises that get them re-elected and the estuary kept in slimy ruins.

Todd Weissing and crew are ready to come to your meeting. Just contact us at 772-225-6849 or info@RiversCoalition.org.
