Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company proudly kicked off its inaugural season with performances of six rarely produced short plays by Tennessee Williams. A portion of their production's proceeds, is being donated to Nazareth Housing. We are grateful to Playhouse Creatures for partnering with us at a time when support for social services and the arts is under stress from the economy. Goldman Sachs Community Service Day |
|
On June 4, 2010 Goldman Sachs Community Team Works partnered for a third year in a row with Nazareth Housing. A vibrant group of volunteers (pictured below) assisted in painting the lobby, entry way and stairwell of 721 East 6th Street which houses families in emergency shelter along with low income residents in our supportive housing program. Their volunteer efforts help support our mission to revitalize and improve the conditions of the building and the environment for our residents and is part of a $250,000 capital improvement project currently underway. We are grateful for their hard work, good will and energetic contributions that day and look forward to having them return next year. We also extend our thankls to the volunteers from Debevoise & Plimpton's Team Sunshine for painting one of our senior supportive housing apartments on May 14 at 641 East 11th Street.

From the Executive Director |
|
Nazareth Housing continues its mission to prevent and end homeless while building self-sufficiency among our households even in the most challenging climate for social services in the last two decades. I am pleased that we have been recently re-certified as a HUD certified Housing Counseling Agency, through June 2012. The recertification reviewer wrote the following in the report conclusion: “Nazareth Housing is an excellent and professional housing counseling agency which strives to continually improve their services to reduce homelessness while working in a demanding social environment.”
The Board and Staff of Nazareth Housing remain passionately committed to explore ways to prevent homelessness, promote housing stability and alleviate the suffering of homeless families and youth through a wide array of family and youth services. We are grateful to the many donors, volunteers and partners who support us in our mission.
