 Making Room for Joy

Letting go of hate and anger and choosing to forgive frees your heart from the past so you can move forward and make room for joy and love. It does not mean that what the person did was OK or that you would allow it to happen again. When you let go of the hateful emotions, you are no longer the victim and you are no longer emotionally connected to that person. You can then learn from the experience and make room for joy.

Many of us are handed a scorecard as we grow up, being told that this is the one that we must use to assess performance and from which we determine ‘success’ or our capacity to ‘measure up’. Regardless of whether or not you measure up, when was the last time you stopped… and asked yourself… “Does this scorecard connect to anything meaningful for me, in my life?” If not, you might want to consider a different scorecard.
