MICK JAGGER'S SUPERGROUP 'SUPERHEAVY' RELEASE DEBUT
Mick-Jaggers-supergroup-SuperHeavy-release-debut
Mick Jagger's all-star outfit SuperHeavy have debuted their first single 'Miracle Worker'.

The band, which features Jagger, Joss Stone, Damien Marley, Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, and composer A. R. Rahman, have delivered some music and some studio footage.

The first single is called 'Miracle Worker' and while Jagger said that the band will go all over the shop with their sound, from ballads to Indian songs sung in Urdu, this one is conspicuously heavy on the reggae pop.

The single is available on iTunes now, and the self-titled debut album is due out on September 19.

They've also released some footage of the stars recording, laughing, joking around and mixing it up in the studio.

GREETINGS AND WELCOME TO THE FIRST ISSUE OF GRASSROOTS – THE MEDICINAL MARIJUANA MOVEMENT DIGITAL MAGAZINE.

There is a lot of information on the subject of marijuana these days and moreover, it’s  changing every day. That’s why we created this magazine – it’s beyond bongs and blondes at this point (God bless ‘em).

Marijuana is now a whole new ball game. More sophisticated
minds want to be kept apprised of the evolving status of the
plant in terms of medicine, politics and business, and culturally, in the kitchen and on the streets.

We are in the midst of a paradigm shift and the polarized
debate over this plant will likely become a relic of the past.
GrassRoots, as an observer of history unfolding, captures the  best of what these times have to offer: stories by pioneers  in the cannabis movement, the latest research by scientists,  legal and medical Q&A columns, tips on cultivating your own  medicine, market observations, as well as theory and even  comedy. Our contributors include doctors, yogis, lawyers,  connoisseurs, and farmers as we are geared toward all those  readers interested in and aware of the enormous changes  that are underfoot.

You’re part of the cutting edge! May these pages stimulate
your conversations and help create a new framework for a
better world.

ROBERT FfRENCH RELEASES THROWBACK REGGAE HITS
VETERAN artiste Robert Ffrench is set to release a collection of throwback reggae hits which he says is sure to thrill both local and international fans familiar with his chart-topping tracks of the 80's and 90's.

The soon-to-be-released collection is a follow up to the VP Records distributed album Yesterday & Tomorrow. With countless hits under his belt, the veteran artiste's latest album features a long list of the hit songs throughout his career. Among the tracks present are chart toppers such as the gold and platinum selling Bun n' Cheese and the huge international 80s hit Ruff & Tuff, a song sampled many times over by sound systems worldwide in sound clashes and battles in their desire for dominance.
FFRENCH... the intention is to bring back the love from the people and to introduce the young ones to the classic sounds

As the first volume to be released in a series showcasing Ffrench's other successes, the release is one, which according to the artiste, will not only reignite the memories of the past, but also appeal to new listeners as each song displays the timeless and universal sounds of reggae, delivered by a voice synonymous with it.

In Ffrench's own words, the intention is "to bring back the love from the people and to introduce the young ones to the classic sounds."
Other featured songs such as On the Dancefloor, have resulted in success for not only Ffrench, but for American R&B vocal group Force MDs and fellow reggae success Beres Hammond, both of whom covered Ffrench's song in recognition of its success and their own appreciation. Hammond also acts as co-writer on another featured track, Too Young; one which was released in the US in the early 90's and met with accolades.

The artiste adds, "Listen for a sound distinctly reggae and distinctly Robert Ffrench and as simplified by the artiste himself, listen for an understanding of where he's been and where he's going."

THE REGGAE REVOLUTION TOUR FEATURING REGGAE CROONER GRAMPS MORGAN AND KyMANI MARLEY WHICH CONCLUDED RECENTLY AT THE ROXY THEATRE IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA IS BEING HAILED AS A SUCCESS.
Reports indicate that the tour attracted thousands of reggae fans in Vancouver, Victoria, Spokane, Seattle, Bellingham, Portland and included two heritage festivals: the 27th annual Reggae on the River in northern California where Gramps and Ky-mani shared stage with Tony Rebel, Bushman and Queen Ifrica; and the 12th annual Ska Festival in Victoria, BC -- a popular three day celebration of ska, reggae, dub and punk music.

"It was a special tour and fans enjoyed it! The music was great, the vibe was magical...I had the time of my life," Gramps noted.

The US-based singer reportedly delivered well on tracks such as Come Back To Bed, One In A Million, Wash The Tears Away, One Night and Pslams 23. The audience is also said to have enjoyed the coming together of Gramps and Ky-mani for their riveting rendition of the Marley classic Get Up, Stand Up each night.

"I feel honoured to have had this opportunity to work with Ky-mani. The tour was historical in a sense as never before has a Marley and a Morgan toured together, although we have worked on records before. It was the first time ever and won't be the last as it was pure chemistry. We have definitely formed a closer musical bond on this tour and I look forward to our up coming East Coast tour as well as working with him on other projects in the future" he noted.

The tour came on the heels of the release of the hit single The Almighty.

Earlier this year Gramps made headlines for his stellar performance with his brother Peetah at the Reggae 4 Japan, benefit concert, to support the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Relief Effort of the American Red Cross at the York College Performing Arts Center in Queens, New York.

"I feel blessed to have been asked to contribute my talent to help raise funds to assist Japan in its rebuilding efforts" he said.

For the remainder of 2011, he will focus on completing his sophomore album Reggae Music Lives. He is also producing songs for other young reggae acts, including his son Jemere, who was recently signed to his Dada Son Entertainment record label.

TARRUS RILEY FOR REGGAE RHYTHM AND BLUES FESTIVAL
FANS of Tarrus Riley can expect to see the singer in 'full hundred' mode when he takes centre stage at the Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, NY at the inaugural staging of "Reggae, Rhythm and Blues" concert on Labour Day, Sunday, September 4.

The festival is expected to attract thousands of music lovers from the tri-state and Canada, making their way into the city to see performances by dancehall hotshot David Brooks aka Mavado, R&B singer Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and soca king Machel Montano.
RILEY... began his musical career as a deejay working with Busta Rhymes, taking his birth sign as his stage name at his mother’s suggestion

"Labour Day weekend in New York is all about music from the Caribbean. The Brooklyn Parade which happens on this day, typically attracts over two million participants annually. Patrons have a great blend of entertainment, there's lover's rock, dancehall, R&B and of course soca... a perfect way for revellers to hit the parkway on Labour Day," said Bobby Clarke, event organiser.

Riley is the son of veteran singer Jimmy Riley. He began his musical career as a deejay working with Busta Rhymes, taking his birth sign as his stage name at his mother's suggestion (the spelling later changed from Taurus to Tarrus), and recorded his first singles for his father's Love & Promotion label.

"Tarrus has one of the most powerful voices in reggae ," states Clarke. "He is loved by the ladies and respected as a talented singer by men. He has built up a massive following here in the tri-state area and as such we are excited about his upcoming performance at Reggae, Rhythm & Blues festival."

GRAMPS MORGAN RELEASE NEW MUSIC VIDEO
Gramps Morgan Release New Music Video:  “The Almighty” - A DAY IN THE LIFE OF GRAMPS MORGAN, featuring Sione Pouha from the New York Jets.

YOUTUBE DIRECT LINK:
http://youtu.be/FOa56BjUjWA

Roy "GRAMPS" Morgan, a member of the internationally renowned reggae group, Morgan Heritage, releases new music video for his hit song “The Almighty” and takes you through his day as he records music and meets up with celebrity friends.  Gramps is a Grammy Award Winning Producer, EME Album of the Year Winner in Jamaica and Canada,  IRAWMA's Best New Artist, Soul Train Nominee, and the CEO of Dada Son Entertainment.

Gramps is one of the legendary Denroy Morgan's 17 sons who at the tender age of nine became a member of the family band, Morgan Heritage. Denroy however, prophesized that one day, each of them would trod on their own journey to achieve solo stardom. Gramps, a burly vocalist and keyboard, player affirms "This has always been my father's plan; we are all on an individual journey to express ourselves musically. We (referring to Morgan Heritage) don't want to be predictable in the music; we want to keep it interesting and we want to keep it fun as well."

Now after nearly a decade together, touring almost every continent on the planet and performing for millions of people worldwide, this tightly knit family member's solo journey has begun.

A burgeoning solo artist, Gramps is on a mission to reinvent himself. In a time when reggae music is in a state of dejection and dancehall lyrics are redundant with nothing but a cache of clichés, slangs and slogans, GRAMPS Morgan feels it is the right time to go solo.

GO FOR PASSION!
"There is no end. There is no beginning. There is only the infinite passion of life."
-- Frederico Fellini
How do you ration your passion?
In what situations have you experienced your life to the fullest? Do you live your passion as fully as you can? How do you limit your experience of passion?
Passion emerges when your essence expresses itself. How do you stop yourself from fully expressing who you are?
"Without passion man is a mere latent force and possibility, like the flint which awaits the shock of the iron before it can give forth its spark."
-- Henri Frederic Amiel
