Simple, good nutrition will help the entire family through the experience of caring for a child with cancer.

Here is a good recipe for our hot summer days .

Berry Yogurt Popsicles

2 tbsp sugar (or agave necter)

2 tsp fresh lemon juice

3 cups fresh berries

Put these 3 ingredients into a food processor, blend, then pour and press through a mesh sieve to remove pulp, but save the juice.

Mix juice with two cups of yogurt flavor of your choice.  Pour into popsicle molds or ice cube trays and freeze.

You can make layered popsicles by pouring the juice in, letting it freeze, then add a layer of yogurt, freeze, then finish with another of juice.

Variation:  Mix juice with sparkling water instead of yogurt.

Michaella Says Goodbye

Dear ACCOIN Families,

It is with a mixture of both sadness and excitement I say goodbye to American Childhood Cancer Organization Inland NW to embark on a new adventure to Seattle. August 11th, 2011 will be my last day in the hospital.

My time here has meant more to me than just a place to go to work. What I have learned about myself, life in general and the lessons I will take with me cannot be put into words.

Many of you and your families have become a steady presence in my life, one that I will miss. It has been my honor to be a part of your experiences, to share in your joys and sorrows and to have known each and every one of you. ACCOIN is a wonderful organization and I am blessed to have been able to aid in any way to the realization of our mission.

You will all remain in my heart, and I hope to be in touch.

Thank you Michaella

Thank you Michaella for always going above and beyond and for your faithful commitment and service. We have all been truly blessed for having known you.

You will be so missed!!!!

We wish you the best and know that you will find it. Hope you will stop in and visit next time you are passing through Spokane.
