Mark Your Calendars for "Christmas in Appalachia" Concert December 3rd

Join the Folk Heritage Committee for a warm, festive evening at the "Christmas in Appalachia" fundraising concert for Shindig on the Green, featuring headliner The Cockman Family plus Appalachia Song and clogging & buck dancing demos, Saturday December 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Upper Anderson Auditorium at the Montreat Conference Center.


Enjoy traditional holiday, bluegrass, and gospel music along with entertaining dance performances in the intimate 300-seat auditorium. Master of Ceremonies Glenn Bannerman will lead the evening.

About the Performers

The Cockman Family:

Born and raised in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina, The Cockman Family has preserved and presented the old time gospel hymns to audiences for some 24 years. Its traditional style features four part family harmonies with the accompaniment of traditional bluegrass instrumentation. Since launching its performing career in 1988, The Cockman Family has developed the classic family harmonies and youthful flair that is The Cockman Family trademark.


AppalachiaSong:

A versatile and talented quartet of performers who brings the music of not only the mountains, but of America itself, to life. This group is unique in its warm vocal harmonies, its solid delivery of instrumentals, and its diversity of folk, bluegrass, gospel and other popular songs.
