STAY FLY WITH MEGA BANTON |
MEGA BANTON has maintained a deep affection for music as long as he can remember, born Garth Alexander Williams and grew up in city of Portmore located in St Catherine outside of the capital of Kingston. Mega Banton in his early youth would crooned the lyrics and sounds of his favorite artists such as Dennis Brown, Yellow man and Alton Ellis over his father's stereo system; he would also performed these songs at school concert, and at local neighborhood street party. Mega Banton would eventually start writing his own songs and developing his own lyrical style while attending the prestigious ST. ANDREW TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL. Mega Banton skills and reputation grew as a talented young deejay in the community. Mega Banton began performing at local stage shows which caught the attentions of veteran Deejay in the reggae industry such as RICKY GENERAL; who loved the young artist drive and ambition and decided to introduced him to the notorious reggae mogul/ producer Jack Scorpio.
While at recording sessions at the Black Scorpio labeled Mega earned a reputation for his intense delivery and provocative vocal flare. Mega swift hard-hitting lyrical delivery distinguished him from among the emerging deejays with songs that epitomized the dance hall era of the early 90s. He began to record tracks like 'GIVE IT A EASE" which is the first song he ever recorded. The song echoed the harsh reality of Jamaica lifestyle which most of the people and community lived in daily and the violence that surrounded them; his song gave hope to the massive with a positive message. In 1993 Mega Banton released his debut album, FIRST POSITION, on VP records with hit singles such as NAME A MENTION, GLAMOROUS, and SO WI STAY. The single "SOUND BOY KILLING" on the same album charted on the US BILLBOARD charts and propelled Mega Banton career to international status; which led to a record deal with SONY RECORDS and produced the album 1,000,000 MEGA WATTS in 1996.
Mega have toured extensively with the Shocking Vibes Crew such as Beenie Man, and Tanto Metro and Devonte. The popular street anthems MONEY INA MI POCKET and PON DI CORNER, revived Mega Banton status as one of Jamaica's most respected deejays in the business; these songs stayed on the Reggae charts in Jamaica and the United States for several months in 2003. Mega Banton popular underground singles such as RISE IT, GIMMI DEM and GARISON featuring Mr. Lex, have kept Mega Banton name buzzing in the streets, on the charts, in the clubs, and on top of his game in the reggae dance hall areana; The singles GIMMI DEM and GARRISON were released on Gargamel Records and produced by one of Mega Banton idol and musical inspiration Buju Banton. Mega has been limited his appearance on various Dancehall Rhythms in the last few years, as he chooses rhythms that fits his unique style, voice and swag;while he still manages to preserve his untouchable style and status which can be heard on his latest song and video "Stay Fly" on the Basik Instink Riddim by Taranchyla and dj Froggy. http://youtu.be/jD7eephQpuQ
Mega Banton has maintained a herbal and meditation vibes and following in Northern California and the Bay Area with songs such as 'I'm so High", "Fly Away" and "Get High" which he performed on the Annual Smoke Tree Tour. Mega Banton has record songs with reggae greats such as Barrington Levy, Micheal Rose, Leroy Smart, Lady Saw, Steel Pulse, Tanto Metro & Devonte, Mr. Lex, Cecile, Ricky General and Delly Ranks. Today Mega Banton still remain humble, focus and determine to take over the dancehall scene and radio waves. Mega Banton is currently in the studio in Jamaica working on new his album and a single to be drop in 2012. Mega Banton in recent years have been working and recording in the studios with top name producers and labels in the reggae industry in Jamaica such as dance hall producer NotNice, Jam 2, Steely and Cleevie, Baby G, King Jammy, John John, Equanox, Braeton Connection and Free Willy.

Mega Banton also known as Megah Di Megaladon, or Megah is currently under the management of TWINKLEEK MUSIC GROUP / KNAK DEM OUT PRODUCTION who is based in Oakland California and is in the final stages of completion of his new album, THUG POETRY to be released in the summer of 2012. Hawaii's Inna Vision Releases "No Stopping"
- Available on Itunes Today!! |
Inna Vision is back, presenting to the public their third full length album timelessly titled No Stopping! Their album delivers a full-fledged original sound that encompasses all the beauty involved with everyday struggles. No Stopping is created to inspire listeners in following dreams, and their passions despite life’s many challenges. Each song is chosen with purpose, created with passion, and presented with righteousness.
No Stopping has a positive holistic message that permeates the idea to keep striving. Inna Vision faced tough times in 2011 as the drastic falling-out of vocalist Bengali and saxophonist Jahson took occurrence. Despite the changes, the group continued with their 2011 Upliftment Tour playing in Oregon, Vegas, Utah, and the Hawai‘i Islands. The attitude Inna Vision adapted was: “no stopping”.
The 2011 Upliftment Tour developed an opportune space for the Inna Vision band, allowing them to reconnect with their fans and providing proof that they could pull through as one solid original sound. Fans traveled near and far to witness and partake in Inna Vision’s tour. Kokomon performed a double set while Pokimon and Kaya made up for lost saxophone melodies. Kamakoa sang background vocals and Calvi-dread held it down with prominent percussions. Inna Vision arose to the challenge with dignity and consciously focused on keeping the positive in every situation.
Life works in mysterious ways and as doors close others open up, changing dynamics and allowing for chance to build on foundation. David Bailey, who started with Inna Vision playing drums, guitar, and singing back in 2005, made his return helping push the band with his signature vocal harmonies and powerful stage presence. David Bailey was a big part of Inna Vision’s first album Music on my Mind. Also adding to the albums dynamics
is bassist Kamakoa. As a growing artist, Kamakoa adds lead vocals on feature tracks “Bless Me” and “Beautiful,” and has two collaborations with Kokomon, “Solutions” and “Roots Daughtah.” Kamakoa recently released his first single, “Shacks and Shakas” under the InnaVision label getting recognition in Hawai‘i, Tahiti, Austrailia, USA, and France. Lead singer Kokomon continues to represent Polynesian roots and culture with his unique riddim attack and unmatchable flows. Kokomon gains recognition from albums such as: Music on my Mind, Ashes for your Urn, Koko meets Ooklah, Vaults, as well as recent collaborations with Josh Heinrichs, Mr. 83, Ooklah the Moc, Skank Records and Father Psalms Studio. This album will showcase the best in hard-core roots reggae and features Jamaican influences of Bob Marley, Jr. Reid, Barrington Levy, Jr. Gong, Hugh Mundell, Musical Youth, Half Pint and Michael Rose.
The outcome of this re-construction is a 13 track full length album rightfully titled, No Stopping. No Stopping is a representation of the band’s growth and maturity, and love for authentic reggae music. All members have grown in a level of superior musicianship, which you will be able to hear in the recordings and see in live performances. No Stopping was recorded at Cultural Vision Maui Studio, released under Inna Vision’s label Cultural Vision Maui and will be available world-wide in Spring 2012.
“In the realm of life anything can happen. The lesson learned is to adapt and be in control of your actions, attitude, and destiny. No matter what happens in every day life, time never stops and in the pursuit of happiness and sustainability there is No Stopping.”

Free Music Download Reggae Legends Inner Circle Presents: The Reggae Wave |
On the scene for over four decades, Inner Circle has been making unforgettable and timeless reggae music. Their most notable hits include single “Sweat (A La La La La Long) and “Bad Boys (Whatcha Gonna Do)” and continue to tour the globe with upcoming dates in Hawaii, Colombia, London, Central Park in New York and more. Inner Circle’s latest album State of Da World possesses tracks with features from David Hines of Steel Pulse, Stephen Marley, and Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage to name a few.
Continuing to be a force to be reckoned within reggae music, Inner Circle created a new movement called The Reggae Wave. The Reggae Wave is about giving back to the Roots Reggae vibes. Inner Circle are aiding the bands to expand their fan base and create a movement or "wave" outside of their respective "hotspots" by contributing to a compilation that is available to fans for free via physical product and viral partnerships in South Florida. The Reggae Wave consists of the alternative reggae of Spred the Dub, amazing vocals of Fourth Dimension, Hasidic reggae band Skafyah, Haitian band Jahfe, as well as the bands Stampede Movement, Roots Shakedown, The Resolvers, and Mixed Culture.
Inner Circle released the official The Reggae Wave compilation earlier this year. Chris Castro of thepier.org writes “The album steadily jumps between seedy dub, roots reggae, upbeat ska and dance-hall. It’s less of an album or cohesive set of work and more like a quick snapshot of several great bands who make something that falls under the umbrella term of reggae. “Be Free” from Spread the Dub, jumps and skanks with group chants and rude boy charm while “Mellow Memories” from Stampede Movement hits a doo wop stride and “Cuanto (Tiempo Mas)” from Mixed Culture throws the mix a Latin twist.”
Read the rest of thepier.org review here:
http://www.thepier.org/review-the-reggae-wave-compilation/
The Reggae Wave bands each perform all across South Florida and have recently opened up for Inner Circle at the first ever Reggae Jam with Third World at the Adrienne Arsht Center on February 24, 2012. To learn more about all of The Reggae Wave bands visit www.TheReggaeWave.com

Evolution Tour 2012
Lovers Rock & Reality in the Spirit of Gregory Isaacs |

If there’s one man who can keep the legacy of Gregory Isaacs alive it’s Kevin Isaacs. They’re cut from the same cloth - Kevin possesses his father’s smooth tone of voice, making him a worthy successor to The Cool Ruler. ‘Keep on doing it, don’t give up’, is what his father told him, and that’s exactly what he’s done.
Born in 1979 in Jamaica, Kevin wrote his first song at the age of thirteen. He recorded and toured with his father, established himself as an independent producer, and even set up his own record label. A versatile artist, Kevin has
written and recorded numerous songs, gaining recognition in Jamaica, America and throughout Europe. His slogan ‘Love can conquer war’ reflects his strong roots in a new wave of unity and reggae consciousness.
Shortly after Gregory died, Kevin discovered Tallawah on YouTube, playing a memorial concert in honour of his father. The band immediately caught his attention – never before had he heard a group that reproduced and mixed the styles of Gregory’s various backing bands so well. The Roots Radics, Sly & Robbie, Mafia & Fluxy and Steely & Clevie – Tallawah captures the essence of all those great masters of reggaemusic. He soon figured that this was the band he’d been looking for, and teamed up with Tallawah’s producer Patrick Ramdat. Together they organised a series of highly successful shows, held in June 2011. It proved a fertile partnership, culminating in a new album, due for release in October 2011. The title – Evolution - expresses Kevin’s desire to continue his father’s work and philosophy. The Evolution Tour 2012 kicks off in June 2012 with a live show that includes many famous Gregory songs as well as some unpublished work. Past, present and future - Kevin’s own repertoire will also be covered.
Combined with the vocal perfection and sweet melody of Tallawah’s Lady Joan, Sista Benji and talented musicians, the stage looks set for an unforgettable experience that will keep Gregory’s legacy alive. A trip for the ear and a feast for the eye!

Louie Culture Foundation From Birth Tour April 2012 |
Reggae Artist Louie Culture has garnered great success in the reggae community he is Gifted but humble, diminutive yet powerful, this successful artist on the reggae music scene has dedicated his life, his heart & his soul to reggae. Born in the lush environs of Winsor Forrest in Portland, Jamaica as Lewin Brown; Louie Culture remembers music being the focus of his attention from an early age. He involved himself at an early age in everything musical at school or in the community. Louie Culture enrolled school choir, concerts, sound system sessions and started writing his own songs at age eleven.
Louie Culture thoroughly immersed himself in all that his community had to offer, and at age 17 he decided to moved to Kingston the heart of the reggae scene. Louie teamed up with Panasonic Sound System, working on a nightly basis. He became acclaim for his style of delivery and lyrics that poured in and around the country consciousness of injustice and inequality, this country boy was transformed into a spoke person for the poor to a rankin´ Kingston DJ. His vocals catches the attention so fame record and producer King Tubby who recorded Louie’s and Waynie Ranks’ Rat A Bad A Mi. The song garnered wide air play and was particularly popular in the Kingston dance halls, this was the beginning of a slow but increasingly fruitful period of growth and development.
In 1992 Louie teamed up with top-ranking producers such as Dave Kelly, Colin ´Fatta’ York, Jack Scorpio, John-John (Jammy Jr.) and Bobby Digital. During these productive years, Louie Culture´s music took over the air waves and he had everyone singing along with songs like Tell Her Fi Move, O.P.P., Owner Fi De Man, Excellence, Rudie Don´t Fear, Your Name A Call, Original Look Good, Chat Dem A Chat, Live & Learn (with Wayne Wonder), clearly marking Louie Culture a performer of substance. Combination hits followed with Shine Your Light featuring Chrisinti,Tune In with Gregory Isaac and Grab Yu Lass and Come featuring Mikey Spice.
Louie Culture has tour Japan, Europe and the United States; his tour in Japan resulted in sold-out crowds in Tokyo, Nagasaki and Osaka. His States side appearances also included a promotional tour of New York with stable mate Terror Fabulous, and yet another sold-out appearance on his first visit to St. Croix, V.I. Recordings for Dave Kelly continued with Bogus Badge, Revolution Song, No Gal, Before Dem Young and Malfunction. The massive hit Ganga Lee cemented his name on the international scene, reaching #1 in Jamaica, New York, London, Canada and the Caribbean. The Ganga Lee album produced by John John for VP Records in 1994 was exceedingly well received and created for Louie a huge underground following worldwide.
2004 marked the limited release of THE UPRISING on Reggae Central Records to critical acclaim but suffered from poor distribution. That wrong has been righted in 2010 with the digitally remastered release of THE UPRISING on Culture’s own Gangalee Music label, distributed by Zojak World Wide. Alive set recorded in London is also slated for release this month – LOUIE LIVE IN LONDON - with a brand new album to follow in August. Now fans worldwide can appreciate the tremendous growth of his lyrical creativity along with the strong vocal styles which distinguish Louie Culture as more than just a chanter, 2012 truly looks to be Louie Culture’s year to shine his light as fans can see him on the Foundation from Birth Tour 2012. CeCile presents album CD Jamaicanization |

Jamaican recording artist Ce’Cile, most notably the self-imposed Bad Gyal is on a mission – Jamaicanizing the globe with her new album “JAMAICANIZATION”.
This innovative, witty, intelligent and creative diva has proven time and time again that she has the components for making hit songs. It’s her flair for controversy that has kept media and fans alike tuned in whether she flows over traditional Reggae beats or hits homeruns with pulsating Dancehall riddims.
From the beginning Ce'Cile has been an innovator and kept tongues wagging since first breaking into the Dancehall scene with the self-produced, shockingly refreshing and thought provoking smash "Changez" designed as a marketing ploy by poking fun at her male counterparts. Rhythmically inventive and catchy, it shot across dancehall's macho braggadocio, light-heartedly lampooning the music's biggest male names with unflattering speculation on their bedroom performance. Not surprisingly, it won her a legion of female fans.
Check out her new single titled "Hey" featuring Agent Sasco (Assassin)

If you wish, and we really wish you wouldn't, like to be removed from this list, please reply with REMOVE in subject line.
It will make us very sad if you do, and perhaps your removal will be the one the makes us decide this no longer worth doing at all, and all the information we provide will go away forever and musicians will sit home alone at night and cry because they have no one to play for because no one knows about their shows. Your call?.. |
