New Tune and Newz

Reggae stalwart, Zema, has a new tune out on the ”We Roots” Various Artists compilation on Catch Me Time Records  (www.CatchMeTime.com  and Facebook / CatchMeTime).  “We Roots” is the new project of Chuck Foster, one of the most well respected figures on the reggae scene for decades. Besides serving on the Grammy committee and hosting Los Angeles’ leading reggae radio show, Foster has written two definitive books on reggae and for many years wrote for The Beat Magazine.

Foster now goes back to his roots as a producer to bring us “We Roots” consisting of 15 tracks of fresh female voices aligned with Southern California.   Using top local session players, the album is presented in showcase style with each song followed by its dub.  Zema opens the album with “Rock Steady,” a paean to reggae’s roots followed by the dub “Rock Steady Riddim”.   The album artistry contains a wide variety of reggae styles reflective of SoCal as voiced by Jessica Burks, Shayna Dread, Queen P, Universal Speakers and Jordan Mercedes.

“We Roots” is charting well, currently at #17 on the CMJ New World charts (debuting at #2 on the CMJ New World Add chart), and has aired on over 150 stations. “We Roots” is available on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby and CatchMeTime.com.

Zema’s previous new single was “ Keep On Believing” released on  the “Step by Step” Riddim compilation on Rumble Rock Recordz  (www.rumblerockrecordz.com) and is available along with her several other releases on  iTunes, Amazon and www.EBReggae.com.

Zema is back in the studio working on a new album with the Gladiators Band slated for a 2013 release.  Stay tuned!

The Reggae Angels recently released a new CD mid - November called Turn On The Light that is agreed to be their strongest album to date. November 17th, 2012 they were top artists on the Pitzer Reggae Festival in Claremont, California where they performed a number of the songs from their new album. The Reggae Angels were well received and the vibes were high.

The Reggae Angels – the messengers - work consists of guidance for themselves and others towards righteous living - proverbial words and music to live by. The Reggae Angels have toured extensively in North America, Canada, South America, Europe, Africa, and Hawaii. They have also performed on most of the major festivals in the US and Europe. The Reggae Angels deliver the message of God consciousness, universal love, unity and wisdom. They are well known, loved and appreciated. Lyrically, their music is a guide toward good character, affirming qualities such as hope, chivalry, love, gratitude and generosity.
