Creek Week Logo Contest Open for Submissions

This year will mark Santa Barbara’s 14th Creek Week celebration, scheduled for Saturday, September 21st through Sunday, September 29th, 2013.

Creek Week is an annual community event coordinated by the City of Santa Barbara Creeks Division, County Project Clean Water, the City of Goleta, and the City of Carpinteria, with fun and educational events planned and hosted by many community groups and environmental organizations.

This year, artists of all ages are invited to submit designs for a Creek Week logo! The winning logo will be used for all Creek Week promotional materials.

Designs are due Friday, April 5th at 5pm.

The winning entry will be announced at the Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 20th, and the winner will receive a $100 gift card to Art Essentials, and a Creek Week t-shirt featuring their logo.

Contest details and submission guidelines can be found online at www.sbcreekweek.com.

Help Us Install New Storm Drain Markers!

Our new storm drain markers are on their way from the manufacturer!

We will be starting the process of replacing the old markers with a volunteer event on Saturday, March 9th, coordinated by Watershed Stewards Project members Tessa Reeder and Carrie Fong. Tessa and Carrie are working with the Creeks Division on several projects through Americorps.

The plastic markers will be removed and new metal markers will be installed in their place, and are expected to hold up much better to dirt and sun damage.

For details on the event, please contact Carrie or Tessa.
