Snoop And Miley Cyrus: Singer Reveals Relationship Problems In New Reggae Song "Ashtrays And Heartbreaks" |

Snoop Lion and Miley Cyrus' new track "Ashtrays and Heartbreaks" has finally been released! And although we're excited for Miley to serenade us in her new found reggae style, we can't help but wonder if the sorrowful lyrics are about her relationship with fiancé Liam Hemsworth.
"Ashtrays and Heartbreaks" will be featured on Snoop's new reggae album, Reincarnated, which is set to be released on April 22, 2013. Although the 41-year-old rapper has officially declared his forthcoming album, Cyrus has yet to put a date on hers. |

Big Mountain Teams Up with Kickstarter for Exciting New CD Set |

Big Mountain, the internationally renowned reggae band that topped the charts with favorite hits such as “Baby I Love Your Way” and “Touch My Light” has teamed up with Kickstarter to produce an exceptional new 3-CD set of Big Mountain music. Fans and everyday good-hearted people that understand humanitarian-oriented projects are being asked to help by purchasing the forthcoming Big Mountain / Kickstarter 3-CD set. For more than 20 years the music group Big Mountain has donated their time to help others in need of food, clothing, education, medical care and financial aid. The table has turned and instead of Big Mountain helping other organizations, for the first time in the band’s history Big Mountain’s bandleaders are asking for others to financially help Big Mountain. Through Kickstarter.com, now you can be a part of the creative process and help finance the new Big Mountain album. It is very important that Big Mountain release a new CD for radio airplay and to start touring again. Big Mountain needs to generate large numbers of ticket sales so that they can effectively help raise capital, and also raise awareness for humanitarian organizations.

Award Winning Reggae Artist Taj Weekes Releases
Pariah in Transit on April 9th |

April 4, 2013 - New York, NY - Award winning reggae group Taj Weekes & Adowa will release their fourth CD “Pariah in Transit” on Weekes’ Jatta Records (distributed by Megawave Records). The album represents some of the band’s finest live performances. The album’s curious title reflects Taj Weekes & Adowa’s position in the overall reggae narrative, “on the outskirts trying to get in but not really being allowed to. We weren’t born in Jamaica, reggae’s birthplace, which is one of the greatest adversities we face,” explained Taj, a Rastafarian who hails from St. Lucia. Adowa represents a broad swathe of the Caribbean archipelago with Radss Desiree (Dominica) on bass; Adoni Xavier (Trinidad) guitar; John Hewitt (Barbados) keyboards and Cornel Marshall (Jamaica) drums. “People don’t listen to jazz or rock from just one place so why should we be looking to one geographic location for great reggae music?” Taj asks.Serving as a vibrant reminder for listeners who have already experienced Taj Weekes & Adowa’s concerts and an unforgettable introduction for those who haven’t, “Pariah In Transit” offers inspired renditions of songs spanning their three albums including “Since Cain” (Hope & Doubt); “Propaganda War”,(Deidem), and “Rain Rain” (A Waterlogged Soul Kitchen).Music fans irrespective of their geographic location will embrace the wide-ranging issues and eclectic musical elements that make “Pariah In Transit” one of the year’s most important reggae releases. “As artists, our sole job is to bring to light things that people may not think about too much whether it’s what happened in New Orleans or the earthquakes in Haiti or Japan. Corporate media tells us about everything that doesn’t concern us. So my responsibility is to let people know what is happening, like a town crier, and maybe we can respond accordingly.”Contact: Shirley Menard ◊ Jatta LLC ◊ New York ◊ 917 488 5982 ◊ jattarecords@gmail.com

Advance Tickets to SNWMF 2013 On Sale Now |
SNWMF is please to announce that Hollie Cook, Prince Fatty, Mystic Roots, Downbeat The Ruler and Comanche High Power have all been added to the lineup for this year's festival. Hollie Cook was born and bred in West London in a household dominated by music. With Sex Pistol Paul Cook as her dad, music was always around. Hollie’s passion for reggae singers Janet Kay and Phyllis Dillon combined formed the basis for her new solo work of self coined tropical pop. Prince Fatty is a British sound engineer and record producer whose sound is designed to dub your feet with rock steady beats and stimulate brain waves in a jazz-like way. Mixed in an analog haze of vintage spring reverbs, tape echoes and custom hi-grade mixing console, Prince Fatty won’t disappoint the lovers of the early 70s sound. Mystic Roots serves up an original style based in reggae, hip-hop, and dancehall with overtones of rock, funk, and ska. This Chico based group brings a brand new sound while embracing the nature of roots reggae wholeheartedly and performing it with smooth vocals/harmonies, energetic freestyles and beat-boxing, all over a solid groove. In the 1980's reggae's transition from roots to dancehall was accompanied by explosive growth in New York 's local reggae scene centered around local sound systems. Founded in the seventies by selector Tony Screw, Downbeat The Ruler rapidly became not only a regional force, but one that could compete with the strongest sounds from Jamaica . Armed with an ever-expanding 20+ year reggae vinyl collection, Comanche High Power finds and brings to light the many diverse & highly underrated artists both in reggae history and modern roots and culture dancehall music, while mixing in more well-known classic 'anthems'. Comanche is proud to be the builder and engineer of SNWMF's dancehall.

It will make us very sad if you do, and perhaps your removal will be the one the makes us decide this no longer worth doing at all, and all the information we provide will go away forever and musicians will sit home alone at night and cry because they have no one to play for because no one knows about their shows.
