 The Legacy Lives On

This two-day, two-stage festival is a living memorial to the music icon that was a primary influence to most postwar blues guitarists and early rock and roll greats. T-Bone Walker’s most enduring legacy was taking the guitar from a rhythm instrument to a lead instrument in a band. Honored by his peers by membership in the Blues Heritage Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he was first, and foremost, a loving father, a humanitarian, and a friend to so many.

The 8th annual festival is a fundraiser for two Linden non-profits: Music City Texas Theater, a music venue, and the Fairview Community Center which offers free literacy and computer training to the community. The festival is headlined by The Duke Robillard Band, Doug MacLeod, Zac Harmon, & Texas Flood.  The eleven performing artists and bands will present a variety of blues styles, and include a number of IBC performers and winners.  The festival will also showcase some of the rising stars in blues - The Peterson Brothers of Austin, Texas, Mathew Davidson of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Rafael Espinoza of Golden, Texas.  You will see, hear, and enjoy the reasons why Matthew Davidson was invited into The Brotherhood of the Guitar, The Peterson Brothers (age 14 & 16) were in the top ten bands in the Austin Music Awards, and Rafael was given a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

The 2013 Auction

The T-Bone Walker Blues Fest is a 501c3 non-profit. The annual festival is a fund-raising event, as well as a celebration of the blues and T-Bone. Each year, all of the musicians who played that year sign guitars. These guitars are auctioned on Saturday night just prior to the headliner's performance.  Additionally, other artists will autograph/donate guitars for the auction.  Those guitars may be owned by donations prior to the festival’s live auction; like Ebay, “you may own it now?.   Donations are tax-deductible, less the value of goods & services.  A tax letter will be provided for donations.  All guitars will come with a Letter of Authenticity.  The Keb’ Mo’ guitar has a custom case & a video of Keb’ playing and signing the guitar. Here are some of the 2013 guitars.
