The Damaging Discharges
from Lake Okeechobee into the
St. Lucie Estuary Continue!
Please join us this Thursday, September 26 at 11am at the City of Stuart Commission Chambers to receive the latest updates on the initiatives to stop the discharges from Lake Okeechobee! 
 
River Palooza coordinator, Allison Griffith to give a special presentation to the Rivers Coalition to discuss a very successful event! Thank you to all of the organizers which include Megan Remick, Chef, Mark Muller of Ellie's Deli, and Ron Hart of Terra Fermata, Michelle Richey, Darcy Flierl, Joy Delavega, Ashley Catron and many other volunteers for a job well done! 
 
Also, the Rivers Coalition will be introducing the latest graphics and synopsis of Plan 6 that will clearly communicate the feasibility and benefits of a flowway south to Americas everglades.

September 28th - Hands Across the Lagoon!

The River Kidz will be at Hands Across the Lagoon to pickup
the letters written by the Kidz. These letters will be brought to Washington, DC on October 3rd, 2013.
 
The River Kidz will be at the Environmental Studies Center on
Saturday, October 5th from 10am - 3:00pm.
The kidz will be talking about the river issues and what you can do to help, selling t-shirts, painting faces and participating in the Environmental Studies Center open house!

The River Kidz are raising awareness, our FaceBook numbers
keep growing, we now have 412 friends. We are continuing to
work on our workbook for the Kidz and are planning for our
annual event in September.

Let's Restore the Florida Everglades
 
Stop Wasteful, Harmful Discharges to Sea. Send Excess Lake Okeechobee Water South instead of destroying our Coastal Estuaries.
 
We petitioners urgently ask that government agencies stop discharging unnatural flows from Lake Okeechobee into the St. Lucie River and restore the historic River of Grass southward.
