Greetings from your Editor...
Blues for Christmas

Well I asked and received a few more songs that light up yer holiday tree! Tas Cru shares his beautiful holiday tune, "Won't Have Those Christmastime Blues"; Teri Pealer, Vice President of the Cleveland Blues Society wants us to checkout "Christmas Time" by Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials and sends blues blessings.

I did promise that I'd share the entire list I got from a reader that couldn't narrow down below 12. Here's a link to John Houston's 12 eclectic faves.

One of my all-time faves is Angela Strehli's version of "Boogie Woogie Santa Claus"  (originally Mabel Scott) ... "Well, look here Jack, jumpin' down the track, he's got rhythm in his feet but nothing in his sack." Also LouAnn Barton's version of "Please Come Home For Christmas." "Friends and relations, sing salutations, as sure as the stars shine above. Oh, this is Christmas, Christmas my dear, the time to be with the one you love."

Thanks all for submitting and have yourself a glorious and bluesy holiday!

Blues Birthdays of Note: Dec 19 Professor Longhair (aka Henry Roeland Byrd) (1918), Dec 21 Peetie Wheatstraw (1902), Carla Thomas (1942), Dec 22 Lil Green (1919), Dec 23 Little Esther Phillips (1935), Dec 24 Lee Dorsey (1924), Dec 25 Joe Louis Walker (1949), Dec 27 Tracy Nelson (1944)

Rosebud Agency segues out of booking on high notes for Grammy Nominations and Blues Music Award Nominations
The Rosebud Agency will be segueing out of booking representation at the end of 2013. Unforeseen circumstances leading to a concern about being able to deliver the same level of service indicated that it was time to wind down the agency side of the company. Agency founder Mike Kappus will continue to work on special projects in addition to select artist management as he has for the past 42 years. The booking side of the agency will remain active until the end of 2013 and will retain staff to follow up on agency business into 2014.
