THE COUNTRY MUSIC ASSOCIATION TAPS THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND FOR 2014 CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL KICK-OFF CONCERT
Iconic Southern Rock Group to Perform at FREE CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Concert on June 4 on Chevrolet Riverfront Stage in Nashville, TN

Nashville, Tenn. (May 1, 2014) - Today, the Country Music Association (CMA) announced that legendary Southern Rockers THE MARSHALL TUCKER BAND (MTB) will return to Nashville this June to help kick-off the 2014 CMA Music Festival.  The official CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Concert takes place on the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage on Wednesday, June 4 (11:00 AM-4:30 PM CT), the day before the official start of CMA Music Festival, a four-day event taking over downtown Nashville, Thursday through Sunday, June 5-8.

The MTB made their Festival debut in 2013 to a huge crowd at the Walk of Fame Park.  CMA officials say moving the MTB to the Chevrolet Riverfront Stage was a natural choice.

“The Marshall Tucker Band’s performance at CMA Music Festival last year generated so much enthusiasm with Festival fans and became such a highlight of last year’s event that we are proud to announce that their legendary sound will be part of our 2014 CMA Music Festival Kick-Off Concert lineup,” says CMA Chief Executive Officer Sarah Trahern.

MTB lead singer and founding member Doug Gray notes, "During a year of real winners in Country Music, we have been given another sweet invitation to kick-off CMA week.  We are very proud to again be a part of the biggest festival in Country Music.  We've recently been mentioned in some new hit songs from several young stars and we're so grateful for all the love pouring in from Nashville.  Our 2014 Take The Highway Tour is headed to CMA Fest this June!"

The MTB's CMA Music Festival performance is one of many stops on its 2014 Take The Highway Tour.  The band will remain on the road throughout 2014, performing at more than 120 concert venues by the year's end.  For tour dates and additional information on the MTB, visit www.marshalltucker.com.
