Greetings from the Dmitri Matheny Group, playing this weekend at Moody's Lake Tahoe. Warm thanks to everyone who came out to catch the band's May performances in Washington and Oregon. Sunday, June 1 at 5:00 pm Sing Out with Clairdee, an all-star band and special guests. Dmitri Matheny flugelhorn, Clairdee (photo) vocals, Ken French piano, Ron Belcher bass, Leon Joyce drums. Jazz at Peace is a come-as-you-are, interfaith Jazz Vespers service held the first Sunday of each month at Peace Lutheran Church (a.k.a. Jazz Church West) in Danville, California. No reservations are necessary. Admission is free and by donation. A reception with the artists follows the service. More Info

Friday, June 6 at 8:00 pm Celebrated for his warm tone, soaring lyricism and masterful technique, American musician Dmitri Matheny has been lauded as "the first breakthrough flugelhornist since Chuck Mangione" (San Jose Mercury News), touring internationally and appearing on over 60 CDs. Saturday, June 7 at 8:00 pm "An all-star jazz band featuring some of the most accomplished musicians in the western United States, the Dmitri Matheny Group is a cohesive and seamless unit, serving up equal parts soulful expression, caressing phrases, imaginative asides and dedicated lyricism" (All About Jazz). Friday, June 13 at 8:00 pm First introduced to jazz audiences in the 1990s as the protégé of Art Farmer, Dmitri Matheny has matured into “one of the jazz world’s most talented horn players” (San Francisco Chronicle). Matheny flugelhorn, Pete Pancrazi (photo) guitar, T-Bone Sistrunk bass, John Lewis drums. Wednesday, June 25 at 6:00 pm The Dmitri Matheny Group featuring Clairdee plays The Great American Songbook, favorite Broadway and Hollywood hits of the 1920s through the 60s, including works by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and more. The Music on the Hill concert series at St. John’s College is one of Santa Fe's most popular free summer events. More Info

Sunday, June 29 at 6:00 pm The DMG returns to Taos with an all-star salute to the Great American Songbook, featuring renowned San Francisco vocalist Clairdee "generous spirit...unpretentious sincerity" (DownBeat). Dmitri Matheny flugelhorn, Clairdee (photo) vocals, Ken French piano, Andy Zadrozny bass, John Trentacosta drums. Voted the best live music venue in Taos, the KTAOS Solar Center houses two radio stations, a full service bar and restaurant and spectacular views of the majestic Taos Mountain. More Info
