Special Update!
Rivers Coalition Meeting to Feature Updates on Estuary Woes

Leading advocates in the Rivers Coalition will sort out the recent myriad developments (and lack of same) regarding the "river situation" at the general membership meeting May 29.

Citizens concerned about the continuing pollution and degradation of the estuary will want to be on hand, at 11 a.m. at Stuart City Hall.

Public participation has never been needed more as really significant steps to stop the discharges from inland fail to materialize.

While many claim we must be satisfied with taking "baby steps" and sit though years of more studies, one leader suggested we take adult steps. "Experts close to the issues know that the only real solution is to create a flowway south from Lake Okeechobee, so let's keep the concept up front and move ahead," he said. "We have to overcome the tremendously rich and powerful status quo forces."

Once again, we'll keep the light on for you.

All concerned citizens are welcome, as always. There's plenty of free parking and even coffee and donuts will await you.

4RShores Supports the Rivers Coalition!

4RShores, LLC of Stuart has been selling T-shirts and Performance Drifts with designs by Amber Moran for about a year now and has donated almost $400 to the Rivers Coalition Defense Fund from part of the proceeds from their sales.

A portion of those donations were made In Memory of Grace Powell for whom they sell what is called 'Gracie's Mermaid' and from sales of a shirt designed by Amber in partnership with the City of Stuart for their 'Water's Worth It' Campaign.  There has been incredible support from local retailers, including Earthtones, Surf Central and Salty's Ship Store in Stuart and We Be Jammin' in Jensen Beach, by providing 4RShores with retail space to sell their shirts and to help get the word out about the need to protect our water environment.

Get a 4RShores window decal for your vehicle, boat, trailer or surfboard and if it is seen around town, a photo will be posted on their Facebook page, if it is yours, they will give you a free 4RShores T-Shirt.

4RShores will be making another donation to the Defense Fund at our next meeting.

Help support our River by visiting the above mentioned retailers, liking 4RShores on Facebook or going  to 4RShores.com and get your '4RShores' on.  Every little bit helps!
