Greetings, Flugelfans! The Dmitri Matheny Group is staging over 100 events this year on tour as we count down to the August 9 release of our new album, Sagebrush Rebellion. This month we return to the beautiful Pacific Northwest with a series of swinging summer shows in the great state of Washington. Just ahead:

Tuesday, July 15 at 7:30 pm "A visionary. Matheny's flugelhorn is both hot and cool, wide of range and brilliantly imaginative." —Phil Elwood, San Francisco Examiner Celebrate the Great American Songbook with Dmitri Matheny (photo) flugelhorn, Nick Manson piano, Phil Sparks bass, Mark Ivester drums. Cooksie and Lionel Kramer's Eastside Jazz Club (now located at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel) has presented live music in Bellevue since 2002. More Info

Thursday, July 17 at 7:00 pm "With his gift for soaring lyricism, Matheny plays jazz that's emotionally open but full of mystery." —Andrew Gilbert, SF Metropolitan Dmitri Matheny flugelhorn, Nick Manson piano, Phil Sparks bass, Mark Ivester (photo) drums. Jazz Under the Stars at Pacific Lutheran University provides outdoor, evening jazz performances and the chance to gaze at the stars from the university's observatory. More Info

Named for the college's founding president, Maier Hall is an acoustically superb multidisciplinary center for the arts, humanities and cultural programs on the Peninsula College campus. More Info

Melodic Mastery As part of his 2014 touring season, Dmitri presents jazz improvisation workshops for aspiring musicians.
