CALLING ALL BLUES MUSICIANS!
OZARK BLUES SOCIETY OF NWA’S ANNUAL “BLUES CHALLENGE”
On September 17, 2014, the Ozark Blues Society of Northwest Arkansas will host its Annual Blues Challenge at George’s Majestic Lounge on Dickson Street in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Ozark Blues Society is seeking submissions from Blues bands and solo/duo artists to compete in this event.
There will be two winners announced on the night of the competition -- one band and one solo/duo act. Winners will then be eligible to compete at the four-day 2015 International Blues Challenge on Beale Street in Memphis on January 21 through January 24, 2015.

Johnny Winter, Virtuostic Blue Guitarist, Dies at 70.
Johnny Winter, a Texas-bred guitarist and singer who was a mainstay of the blues-rock world since the 1960s, died on Wednesday in his hotel room in Zurich. He was 70 and had been on tour in Europe.
Mr. Winter’s family was awaiting information about the cause, a spokeswoman, Carla Parisi, said on Thursday.
