CRITICS RAVE OVER SAMMY KERSHAW GEORGE JONES
TRIBUTE ALBUM, DO YOU KNOW ME?

Kershaw's Tribute to "The Possum" Debuts at #37 on Billboard's Top Country Music Chart
Nashville, Tenn. (August 1, 2014) - Music critics coast-to-coast are raving about SAMMY KERSHAW's new GEORGE JONES tribute album, DO YOU KNOW ME?  The album, released on July 22, debuted at #37 on the Billboard Top Country Music Chart, landing Kershaw his first Billboard Top 40 album in more than a decade.

"I'm so glad the media and fans are enjoying this new album, dedicated to my friend and hero, George Jones," says Kershaw.  "If it wasn't for Jones, I wouldn't be where I am today.  I am forever grateful to my friend.  The Top 40 Billboard chart debut and the kind words from reviewers are all truly humbling to me."

Here's what a few reviewers are saying about Kershaw's Do You Know Me?

"Georgette Jones knows her dad's music, so when she writes in the liner notes that Mr. Kershaw 'has the closest voice I know to my dad's,' believe her."
-Nancy DunhamThe Washington Times

"'The Grand Tour,' 'She Thinks I Still Care' and 'He Stopped Loving Her Today' are so close to George's renditions that you'll be searching for Sammy's signature Louisiana drawl."
-Tammy Ragusa, Country Weekly

"From 'The Grand Tour' to a duet of 'Near You' that features Georgette (Jones) taking on her mother's role, this is a warm, immersive and tender tribute.  The Possum would be proud."
-
Erik Ernst, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

"There’s one new track on the compilation, 'The Route That I Took' which showcases Kershaw’s natural vocal ability that certainly is as close to George Jones as we’ll ever get."
-Matt Bjorke, Roughstock.com

"There's no better praise for 'Do You Know Me? A Tribute To George Jones' than that Jones would be mighty proud of this effort."
-Dan MacIntoshCountry Standard Time

"The arrangements of the songs are about as close to hearing George Jones, without hearing George Jones."
-Chuck Schultz, No Depression

"The opening tune, 'The Grand Tour,' finds Sammy sounding eerily like George Jones in some areas.  It is apparent that this was a labor of love for Mr. Kershaw and not just another recording of songs."
-Donna Wilson, Examiner.com

The 14-track tribute to Jones is produced by Kershaw and available through his label, Big Hit Records.  The album is available in stores now as well as digitally through iTunes and Amazon.com.
