Summer 2014 August News!

It's been a great summer so far and fall is looking to be an exciting time to be a fan of Red House.
We've been stoking the fires for the release of Pieta Brown's record Paradise Outlaw.  Below you'll find links to video premiers and a FREE download from the record. 
Plus, Dean Magraw & Eric Kamau Gravatt will release their duo debut jazz album and celebrate its release as part of Red House Live from the Landmark.
There's Storyhill news, a special Wailin' Jennys  milestone and some tour dates are some of the goodies highlighted below.

Pieta Brown Premiers New Videos!
We're a little over a month away from the Sept. 30th release of Pieta Brown's new record Paradise Outlaw! 
Our friends' at The Current recently premiered the video for "All My Rain," while Paste Magazine unveiled the video for "Before Gas and TV!" 
In addition, Pieta announced her fall tour which will take her across the country including a Twin Cities release show on October 10th at  the Dakota!

Red House Live from Landmark Center is Back!

Red House Live from the Landmark will be here before you know it!  Peter Ostroushko will kick things off on September 19th at the F.K. Weyerhaeuser Auditorium.  Single tickets and season passes are on sale now!
In October we'll welcome Dean Magraw & Eric Kamau Gravatt as they celebrate the release of the album Fire on the Nile!
Ray Bonneville, who was the first artist to play Red House Live, will return in November, while Claudia Schmidt will close out the season with a December holiday show you won't want to miss! 
The series takes place on the third Friday of the month, September through December in the F.K. Weyerhaeuser Auditorium in the Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul. Tickets to individual shows are $18 in advance/ $20 at the door, but you can buy the season pass to all four concerts for $60.
The music begins at 8 pm, but you're invited to join us at 7 pm for complimentary hor d'oeuvres provided by St. Paul's own Trotter's CafĂ©, cash bar, and a chance to meet the artist!

Fire on the Nile - Cosmic Jazz from Dean Magraw & Eric Kamau Gravatt!
We're excited for the October 14th release of Fire on the Nile, the debut record from two Twin Cities' jazz masters, Dean Magraw (Jack McDuff, Greg Brown) and Eric Kamau Gravatt (Weather Report, McCoy Tyner, Joe Henderson). 
This cosmic aural romp features Dean on guitar and Eric on drums as they take you on a vast, sonic journey with its sparse yet expansive sound.  These two players are well-seasoned musicians whose array of influences weave in and out of their performances and culminate on Fire on the Nile.
Join us on October 17th as we celebrate the release of Fire on the Nile as part of Red House Live from the Landmark.  This is sure to be an unpredictable and unforgettable experience!

The Wailin' Jennys 40 Days turns 10!
On August 10th, The Wailin' Jennys debut Red House album 40 Days celebrated its 10th Anniversary!  This landmark release introduced the world to a folk trio whose mesmerizing voices have continued to strike a chord with their ever-growing audiences.
The Wailin' Jennys originally came together for what was supposed to be a one-off performance in a Winnipeg guitar shop, but it turned into a career that has taken them to all corners of North America, Europe and Australia.
We're celebrating 40 Days' anniversary all week by marking the iconic album down to $10 when you order it direct from Red House!  Be sure to check our Facebook page for special giveaways all week!

Storyhill - The Montana Rehearsals!
Storyhill has been quiet as of late, but it looks like the guys are woodshedding some new songs!  Chris and John released a couple videos from their Montana rehearsals featuring early versions of new songs such as "What Terrifies Me" and "Venice Beach."
Storyhill Fest is coming up on Aug. 29th-31st in Deerwood, MN and may be your chance to hear these brand new songs live! 
The festival features 10 folk acts including Storyhill and Lucy Kaplansky and is a great way to celebrate Labor Day weekend in a family-friendly, outdoor environment. Tickets are still available!
