Ozark Blues Society's 2014 Blues Challenge winners, Amanda Rey & West Street Blues Band, are hosting "The Road to Memphis" fundraiser on Friday, January 9, 2015 at The Big Chill in Rogers, AR, beginning at 8 pm.
This fundraiser will be raising much needed funds for the band to travel to Memphis, TN to compete in The International Blues Challenge. The Challenge, held annually, hosts over 200 bands from all over the world in a competition that leaves the winners, one full band and one solo/duo act, with the title of Best Blues Band in the World.
The fundraising event on January 9th will feature a wide variety of local music superstars, including Barrett Baber, Jon Dooly, Anthony Ball, Daryl Brooks, Tyrannosaurus Chicken and many more.
The Ozark Blues Society of Northwest Arkansas and Downtown Bentonville, Inc. are hosting "Memphis Roots, Memphis Bound" fundraiser on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at The 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville, beginning at 7 pm.
Proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to help the Ozark Blues Society send and sponsor the two winning local blues challenge winners (Buddy Shute and Amanda Rey and West Street Blues Band) to 2015 The International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
Featured performers are Ozark Blues Society solo winner Buddy Shute, The Downtown Livewires and Ozark Blues Society band winner Amanda Rey and West Street Blues Band.
