They’re backed by the solid, in-the-pocket band, The Rays: Richy Puga (drums), Bob Trenchard (bass), Johnny McGhee (guitar), Dan Ferguson (keyboards), Andy Roman (sax), Mike Middleton (trumpet) Robert Claiborne (trombone), Nick Flood (sax) and The Iveys - Arlen, Jessica and Jillian - (background vocals). The Knickerbocker All Stars :: OPEN MIC AT THE KNICK
Open Mic at the Knick on JP Cadillac Records, featured artists include Curtis Salgado, Sugar Ray Norcia, Dave Maxwell and many more incredible artists.

The Knickerbocker All Stars are a group of extremely talented blues musicians who have been in the business for decades. Members of the band have played with such notable performers as Freddie King, Robert Cray, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Roomful of Blues as well as their own bands.

Sunday night at the Knickerbocker Café in Westerly, RI featured the Roomful of Blues in the 1970’s and early 80’s. It quickly became the hottest social event in the area. Read more details here...

Magnus Berg :: CUT ME LOOSE
The blues literally reaches across all boundaries. Adding to its seemingly mystic power to entrance musicians is the ongoing phenomenon of amazingly young aspirants. Sensational 18-year old Norwegian guitarist Magnus Berg began playing at seven, performed onstage at 12 and played Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago at 17. During his family’s yearly sojourns to the warmth of Florida, and as touring US artists would pass through Norway, Berg began to catch the eye of many in the blues community at a very young age. In late 2012, singer/songwriter Kirsten Thien was captivated by Berg’s guitar solo during his cameo appearance with Mike Zito in a Blues club in Florida. Read more details here

Blind Raccoon’s Roots & Blues Artist Showcase in Memphis to benefit HART Fund
MEMPHIS, TN - Blind Raccoon is delighted to announce the line-up for their showcases happening during the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. On January 21, 22 and 23, from 11:30am to 5pm, artists from Norway, Canada, California, Ohio, Illinois, Connecticut, and New York, a smorgasbord of roots and blues talent, will grace the stage. We have two 2015 Blues Music Award nominees - Vaneese Thomas & Missy Andersen, one 2015 IBC participant – Gaetano Letizia and the Underworld Blues Band - as well as several former IBC contestants performing over the three days. Net proceeds from the showcases will benefit The Blues Foundation’s HART Fund, which provides assistance to blues musicians and their families in times of great financial need due to medical emergencies.

National Women in Blues Showcase, Jan 23 at The Center For Southern Folklore In Memphis
MEMPHIS, TN - Swift Eyes Innovations and the National Women in Blues bring you the 2015 Women in Blues Showcase at the Center for Southern Folklore in Memphis, Tennessee. On Friday, January 23rd, 2015 from Noon until (4pm or 5pm) Women in Blues artists take the stage for their showcase during the annual pilgrimage for the International Blues Challenge run by the Blues Foundation.
 
If it is anything like the last few years, the house will be packed and you will get to see and meet some of the finest women in blues. More than 18 female artists will take the stage and have you tapping your toes, and maybe shedding a joyful tear or two!

National Blues Museum to open in St. Louis
The National Blues Museum (St. Louis, Missouri) is scheduled to open to the public in late 2015, givng blues fans more good reasons to smile.
 
Backed by everyone from blues legend Buddy Guy to actor John Goodman, the $13.5 million complex will contain 16,000 square feet of interactive exhibition space, a 100-seat theater and a robust calendar of public programming.

Artists prepare to compete at IBC in Memphis Jan 20-24
THUNDER BAY, ON- The Loose Cannon band with Arley Hughes, Samantha Chong, Gary Hare, Chris Saunders, Mike McFarlane and Carol Pominville and Solo/Duo act, Pair of Six's with James Boraski and Ed Drotar will be representing Canada's Thunder Bay Blues Society at the International Blues  Challenge. Sunday Wilde's CD, He Digs Me, has been chosen to represent in the 11th annual Best Self-Produced CD portion of the competition.

KINCARDINE, ON, CA - The Sterling Blues Band, guitarist Aug Polowick, singer Kim Sterling, bassist John Gardiner and Tom Trembley, drummer, are heading to Memphis to represent the Bruce County Blues Society who is based in Kincardine, Ontario, Canada.

CHAMPAIGN-URBANA, IL - The Prairie Crossroads Blues Society will host a fundraiser on Saturday January 10 at Bentley's Pub, 419 N. Neil St. Champaign, Illinois, to help send its solo/duo competition winners, Monica Morris and Josie Lowder, to the International Blues Challenge.

COLUMBUS, OH - The Columbus Blues Alliance needs to raise more money for their Blues Challenge Winners and are inviting you come out on January 10th to the Roadhouse 66 (480 E. Wilson Bridge, Worthington, Ohio) and have some fun with The Good, The Bad & The Blues and Li'l Red and the Rooster!
They award the winners of their Challenge with prize money to help pay their way to Memphis and it's an expensive trip overall. They're asking for $10 donations at the door, and 100% of any proceeds will go directly to the musicians. Doors 7:30 pm, music starts 8pm.

MEMPHIS, TN - Make plans to experience the 31st annual Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge (IBC's) held January 21-24, 2015, whether it's to support you local representing act or just be in the massive throngs of some of the very top, worldwide, unknown blues talent.
 
The Keeping The Blues Alive awards luncheon happens January 23, 2015 and it's a wonderful experience, too.
 
The annual Blues Music Awards and the Blues Foundation's Blues Hall of Fame grand opening will follow in May.
