Come and join us for a rare opportunity to learn and share Traditional Native American Medicine, What is the Native American Flute?
In this workshop through story and music you will learn what the Native Flute is and how you can play and enjoy the Flute.
Learn about the History of the Native American Flute and enjoy the storytelling of how it came to the people, partake in learning how to play and general basics of the flute. There will be a demonstration and introduction of a variety of different types of flutes, relax and enjoy the music from the flute as we participate in rounds with the flute offered as sound healing for each other, and be able to use as self treatment as a tool of meditation & relaxation as you enter a sacred art of becoming one with your breath, heart and flute.
(If you own a G Minor Flute please bring it with you, If you would Like to buy a flute let us know in advance and we will try get one in time for purchase see below for more information. This method of flute playing can be applied to any Native American Flute, you do not have to have a Flute to enjoy and learn.)
We will also learn traditional native songs played at Pow Wow's and Dances in Native Gatherings. The afternoon filled with singing drumming and dancing. If you have a hand drum/stick or beater bring it with you. The Drum is the Heart Beat of Mother Earth. We will be singing, drumming traditional songs, such as the Round Dance (Friendship Dance) & Stomp Dance. If you have Moccasins bring them, if not don't worry just come and Dance with us and just have fun!
Requirements: Must Have Fun and no experience is required!
