After romping around in the woods I usually come back to human life inspired and ready to create music imbued with the essence of Nature.
But sometimes there's a different, paradoxical effect:
I feel that the sounds of the natural world are so perfect there is no need to create anything new.
And then I remember my musical mentors: birds, cicadas, wind. They all sing, resound, express no matter what, no matter who's listening.
Then I regain my creative sanity and start creating again.
Below is one of my inspirations, the natural sound of the stream and birdsong in winter, the soundtrack of the video at the bottom of this page.
Allow it to lull you to sleep, or even incite your creative juices to sing a blessed noise to your creator, yourself, or no one at all!

 A few days ago my wife Carol and I were trying to figure out a puzzle which was a major roadblock in our forward movement, indeed crucial to our sense of security and happiness. As usual, we sat in meditation, intending an answer for the issue, and shared our responses as they came. The main answers came in the form of a feeling, and a strong image of our Hearts radiating energy. We both received the same impression.
Afterwards, I whined that we had gone into silence searching for a specific answer and received an obtuse image which didn't bear any resemblance to our questioning. But Carol reminded me that, on the contrary, we had received a DIRECT answer to the question of blockage and how to proceed in the energy of the New Earth. And it seems to be the answer to many of our bottlenecks and problems: It is to allow the Heart to shine, to be the Radiance it is, We Are, in dealing with everything in our reality. By radiating heart, we change ourselves, change our environment, change our relationship with problems. We come to accept and love the things we are struggling with. And as we do this, the world changes.
I am still integrating this lesson. But I wanted to share it before I allowed the most important thing I've ever learned to fade into the dim obscurity of short term memory.

Sound is the Original Vibration from which all things arise. It is one of the most direct routes to experience states of sublime connectedness. Learn to use sound as a tool and portal to access deep levels of healing and transformation. We will discuss principles of creating healing sounds and the manners in which sound affects the body, mind and spirit.
Do you have healing abilities and would like to incorporate Sound Healing into your repertoire of skills? Using crystal and Tibetan bowls, tingshas, drums, rattles, and tuning forks, find ways to enliven your practice, bypass the mind, and effectively transport others into healing and transformative states. We will discuss the building blocks of sound, and explore simple techniques of using nontraditional instruments and hands-on techniques. Also we will use Platonic Solids crystals to create amplified healing grids.
Prerequisite: ability to focus energy, use your imagination, and a desire to have fun using Sound!
