Hans Theessink & Terry Evans :: TRUE & BLUE (Live)
Recorded live in Vienna, Austria – True & Blue, like the prize-winning predecessor albums, Visions and Delta Time – is a naked and intimate, bare to the bone, live recording, that leaves a lot of space for Hans Theessink and Terry Evan’s expressive voices and instruments. This is handmade roots music at it‘s best.

It’s evident that Evans and Theessink were in a super good mood this particular evening and the audience was immersed in a hot night full of timeless blues and roots music, brought to life by these two gifted masters.

With only two guitars and two unmistakable voices, they generate an honest, unadulterated musical force in a stripped down setup.

Bernard Allison :: IN THE MIX
Blues guitarist and singer Bernard Allison produced and arranged In the Mix, his first new studio album in six years, featuring 10 tracks, including five originals, as well as covers of two songs from his legendary father, Luther Allison (“Move from the Hood” and “Moving On Up”), plus tunes from Colin James (“Five Long Years”), Freddie King (“I’d Rather Be Blind”) and Tyrone Davis (“I Had It All the Time”). In The Mix is on the Germany-based label, Jazzhaus Records.

Although firmly rooted in the blues, the music on In the Mix shows Bernard’s myriad of influences, including soul, rock and R&B. Allison says about the recording sessions: “I was very excited to record with my reformed group.

Mississippi's Oldest Music Museum presents Steel Sculptures
CLARKSDALE, MS - An exhibit featuring Delta Blues greats like Furry Lewis, Bukka White and others is on display from June through October 2015 at the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, MS. The opening reception is open to the media and to the public.

The exhibit is a series of original portrait sculptures by steel sculptor Scott Cawood, depicting legendary Mississippi Delta Blues artists. From Cawood, "I've always felt that these Delta Blues musicians were 'Artists' in the truest sense of the word. This series is meant to broaden that understanding. Each of these portraits is an attempt to capture what I hear in each individual's music and express it in their faces. In many ways, their expressions are my own. I am honored to be exhibiting my 'Blues Portraits' series at this important cultural museum. Their commitment to preserving the Delta Blues is alive, multi-faceted and firmly engaged. And by my estimation, they're doing a really wonderful job of it...come see for yourself."
