WNC Theatre League Puts Artists to Work
15th Annual UNIFIED AUDITIONS
pairs actors and technicians with emerging theatre, talent and media companies
The WNC Theatre League and the Montford Park Players will host the fifteenth annual Western North Carolina Theatre League Unified Auditions Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Asheville's Masonic Temple Theatre, 80 Broadway Street, Asheville 28801. Modeled after the Southeastern Theatre Conference and National Outdoor Theatre Auditions, the annual event allows local actors and technicians to showcase their talents in a professional audition setting for a variety of companies throughout the region. The auditions have drawn up to 23 theatre, media and talent companies.
The purpose of the Unified Auditions is to develop a database of local actors and technical artists for regional, community and professional companies.
 
The schedule for the Unified Auditions is:
Saturday, February 27, 2016
Youth Auditions, 9:30 am (if you will not have reached your 18th birthday by May 1, 2016)
Actor Auditions, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Lunch Break and Mingle time, 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Actor Auditions, 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Technical Interviews, for designers, directors, stage managers, musicians and technicians, will follow the actor auditions.
Dance Auditions, dancers, choreographers,4:00 pm – 5:00 pm or 30 minutes after actor auditions are completed.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Each auditionee will upload his or her information, including a headshot, through our online registration form and pay a $35 registration fee by credit or debit card. Registration fees are non-refundable.
 
Actors are asked to prepare 90 seconds of material: one monologue OR two contrasting monologues OR monologue and 16 bars of a song. An accompanist will be available. Please bring your own sheet music in your key, as the accompanist will not transpose. Youth actors will audition separately, and should present a memorized selection, poem, rhyme, monologue, and, if they wish, sing a song. Singing to tapes is not allowed.
 
You will be assigned a registration number, which will be your audition number. Your audition number will be assigned in the order in which your registration is received, except that youth actors will audition first.
 
REGISTRATION IS STRICTLY LIMITED TO 200 ACTORS AND TECHNICIANS!
Audition check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 27 for all actors. designers, directors and technicians.
If your audition number is 1 – 30, you must be at the Masonic Temple by 8:30 am on Saturday, Feb. 27.
If your audition number is 31 – 120, you must be at the Masonic Temple by 9:30 am on Saturday, Feb. 27
If your audition number is 121 – 200, you must be at the Masonic Temple by 12:30 pm on Saturday, Feb. 27.
Each company attending will have an interview room. You can check the posted listings outside each interview room to see if the companies would like to interview you further. You should bring a few copies of your headshot with you, just in case!
