ALL-GIRL band Adahzeh is preparing to release their
latest single Island Girl
|
Penned by the quintet’s lead singer, Kadian Hamilton, the reggae track will be released mid-May.
“The song is about two friends, Kadie and Joyce, who live in Jamaica. Joyce introduced Kadie to her friend, a gentleman from overseas. At the time, Kadie wasn’t interested in any relationship. However, the conversations developed, and more interest was gained, they then decided that they wanted to see each other. Kadie was unable to travel, therefore, she invited him to Jamaica. He came and she showed him her beautiful island Jamaica and the rest is history,” Hamilton told the Jamaica Observer.
The single is being co-produced by Caniggia Palmer and Delroy Escoffery.
In addition to Hamilton, Adahzeh comprises keyboardist Karissa Palmer, Chevanse Palmer (bass), Tashana Barnett (drums), and Tara Williamson (guitar).

Israeli teen pop star Adi Bity debuted the music video for her latest single, "Raga Bity". The video was recently shot in Telaviv and was directed by Adam Deutsch.The track has been gaining popularity since the release and the music video has just gone viral, earning close to 100,000 views in less than 24 hours, with more than 1,000 likes and shares on youtube.

Sgt Remo & Friends – Crucial Reggae Duets Album – May 2016
|
Sgt Remo releases 14 track duets album on his own Jah Yute Entertainment label. This creation drops on 5.31.2016. This album has been brewing for several years and features combinations with 16 worldwide reggae acts. In a recent interview Sgt Remo explains “this album is the result of songs I have created with some of my friends who have been on my corner since day one.” You won’t find any big name combinations on this one. Remo stated it’s not because he does not value these artists but he did not want to pay to have combinations with artists he does not know personally just for the sake of having a famous artist on the album.

Lt. Stitchie To Begin Shooting Video For “Nuh Tek Nuh Talk” In Jamaica
|
Lt. Stitchie and his team are now getting ready to commence shooting of the official video for “nuh tek nuh talk,” one of his recently released singles. The song which is produced by New York based record label, Hit Matic Records, has been in heavy rotation worldwide since it came out approximately three months ago.
Talks of doing a video began earlier in the year but could not be implemented due to Stitchie’s hectic schedule. Now that the governor is home in Jamaica, he will be working with the MJE team to ensure that the video is done.

|
1631: Hemp made legal tender in several U.S. colonies.
1953: Guitarist Donald Kinsey is born in Gary, Indiana, USA.
1977: Eagles' reggae-styled single "Hotel California" [Asylum] is certified Gold by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
1985: Mighty Diamonds perform at Hibiya Yagai Ongakudo in Tokyo, Japan.
This concert was recorded as their first live album "Live In Tokyo" on Overheat Records. Two Japanese musician, Kazufumi "Echo" Kodama (trumpet) and Akihito Masui (trombone), both are member of dub band Mute Beat, took part in the concert.
1991: Japanese actor Katsu Shintaro returns to Japan from Hawaii after one year since his arrest for possession of marijuana in Hawaii in 1990.
