Office News
The office is back to being open every other Friday, starting in September.  The first Friday available for appointments is on Friday the 14th.

Spotlight: Cancer Therapy Massage
One of the types of Massages that are now available in the office is Certified Cancer Therapy Massage.  Michelle has received her certification in this type of specialized massage and available for appointments.  (Just a reminder that acupuncture is also a great therapy before, during or after any cancer therapy.)
 
What is Cancer Therapy Massage?
  • It is a gentle client-specific customized massage. 
  • It revolves around the side effects (both short and long term) of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery.
  • Modification of existing massage techniques to safely work with patients experiencing side effects of cancer therapy
  • Includes those who have a history of cancer, received cancer treatment, are in active treatment, recovery, survivorship or receiving supportive care.
  • NOTE:  Massage should NOT be performed unless Chemo or radiation has started.  If recent diagnosis, must received prescription from Oncologist to receive massage.

Pre-Natal Massage: Light pressure for the Mom's to be
60-Minute PreNatal Massage  $100
 
Certified Cancer Therapy Massage:  Using Lymphatic Drainage techniques, this massage will be appropriate for clients having lymph nodes and those who have had them removed. Client must have a written prescription from their doctor stating it is fine to receive the massage. Client is asked not to have a massage right after cancer treatment; normal wait time is 24-48 after. This is to compensate for the after-effects of chemotherapy and radiation. Work can only be done once the client has started their treatment.

Swedish Massage: Light pressure is used to relieve stress, reduce pain and promote relaxation

Deep Tissue Massage:  Medium to Heavy Pressure is applied focusing on releasing tension and knots in the muscles

Therapeutic Massage:  hybrid of neuromuscular, sport, myofascial and energy techniques  that is tailored to the individual needs of each client

Hot Stone Massage:  ​the therapist uses smooth, heated stones as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply, more quickly.

Reflexology:​ Reflexology, also known as zone therapy, is an alternative medicine involving application of pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger, and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion.
