Use Your Time Effectively

Whether you are busy expanding your business or you’re running a very tight one-person-show, chances are that you have a lot to accomplish during your time at work. What’s more, having time outside of the office and away from your work station isn’t just important, it is essential for your health and well-being. Using your time effectively is all about knowing what your goals are and prioritizing the required actions that get you there.

Check your stats

Frequently: just take a quick look at your reports each time you work on an email marketing newsletter. You don’t have to do an in-depth study, just keep your eyes open and make note of anything that varies from the norm. This will also let you know if you have any issues that need to be taken care of promptly.

Occasionally:
collect all the data you’ve gathered and analyze your results. Look for anything that increased or decreased the efficacy of your campaign - subject lines, call-to-actions, special offers, surveys, etc.

Keep a clean list
Frequently: Keep up with your contact list as often as possible. Check for bounces. Never keep dead email addresses on your list.

Occasionally: Take stock of your inactive recipients. If you can’t win them over to opening your emails, it’s time to bid them farewell.

Keep content fresh
First: Determine your work style; are you an all-at-once writer or would you be better served by doing a little bit here and there. Use this awareness about yourself to create a schedule for creating content. How can you give your readers what they want if you don’t give yourself what you need?

Frequently:
Jot down ideas you have for your newsletter. Keep them in once place so that you have a stash at-the-ready when you find time to sit down and produce content.

Always: edit, proof-read, and preview your newsletter before you send it out.
