WMM AT INTERNATIONAL DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL, AMSTERDAM (IDFA)

Once again, WMM will be at IDFA, Nov. 22 - Dec. 2!
We are pleased to announce that THE KIDNAPPING OF INGRID BETANCOURT will be screening the International Documentary Film Festival, Amsterdam (IDFA) as one of IDFA's Top 20 Audience Favorites from the past 20 years. We are also happy to note that several WMM filmmakers will have their latest work screened at IDFA. Acclaimed filmmaker Kim Longinotto's Hold Me Tight, Let Me Go, will screen as part of the Joris Ivens Competition and Sabiha Sumar's Dinner With The President: A Nation's Journey screens as a Jan Vrijman Fund film. The Silver Cub Competition features Bachelorette, 34 by Kara Herold (GRRLYSHOW) and Child Soldier by Diana Ferrero (THEY CALL ME MUSLIM) and Josh Rushing. Executive Director Debra Zimmerman and Sales and Marketing Manager Julie Whang will be attending IDFA. During the festival, Zimmerman will co-host the daily "Talkshow of the Day." Watch for her on opening night and following evenings as she interviews Larry Flynt, Werner Herzog, Kim Longinotto and others. WMM ON THE ROAD: SHEFFIELD AND MONTREAL
This month, Executive Director Debra Zimmerman is in Sheffield and Montreal. From Nov. 8 - 11 she is at the Sheffield Doc/Fest, attending the screening of ENEMIES OF HAPPINESS and participating in a post-show Q&A. She is also participating on a panel discussion titled Distribution in the Digital Age, and in MeetMarket sessions with filmmakers working on upcoming projects.
In Montreal, Zimmerman attends the Rencontres Internationales de Documentaire de Montreal, Nov. 11 - 14. She presents a workshop: Distribution and Marketing in a Digital 2.0 World and participates in two panel discussions: Challenge: Breaking into the American Market and Meet the Broadcasters. She will also be available for "Face-to-Face" sessions with filmmakers.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM WMM'S MIDDLE EAST COLLECTION AT THIS YEAR'S MESA CONFERENCE

Four new releases from WMM's collection have been selected for this year's MESA FilmFest, during the 40th Annual Meeting of the Middle East Studies Association, Nov. 17-20 in Montreal.The films chosen to screen are ENEMIES OF HAPPINESS by Eva Mulvad and Anja Al-Erhayem, THEY CALL ME MUSLIM by Diana Ferrero, THE NOBLE STRUGGLE OF AMINA WADUD by Elli Safari and A WOMAN'S WORD by Silvia G. Ponzoda. This annual film series of academic-oriented and primarily independent documentaries has been a mainstay of the MESA Annual Meeting since 1983, and its programming reflects the wide range and depth of issues encompassed within the field of Middle East Studies. Also, look for WMM materials marked with a special MESA discount for attendees!
