TRENCHTOWN FESTIVAL IN SERBIA NEEDS OUR HELP!
|
Editor's note: We received this moving letter and got permission to share it with all of you. Please feel free to respond to Sinisa.
Dear Reggae Festival Guide, it is my huge respect to write you and to your precious site (www.reggaefestivalguide.com). All this years from 2002 you are supporting our little but cute first ever Reggae festival in Serbia - Trenchtown Festival.
To be honest with You i think we will never have enough money to invite Reggae stars like Sizzla, The Gladiators, Misty in Roots or Black Uhuru, but magic of our festival is very special and positive place in middle of deep forest just few kilometers from Serbian - Hungary border, so it perfect place for gathering around young people and young reggae bands from EX- Yugoslavian republics which was just few years ago in state of wars between each other.
It is so powerful with positive energy that we till now have NO one fight or any problem so it is like oasis of love and peace in this troubled Serbia.
I think that we with Your help can make Trenchtown festival story to be recognized by European Union and UNICEF and other Peace organizations of the World and to show true examples of how Reggae philosophy doing direct act made just with few young people Will after fall of regime of Slobodan Milosevic.
What I want to say to You is my mission that Trenchtown become one special place on planet Earth where Reggae power beat the ethnic differences and united young people from Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, and of course all the rest of the world.
We need Your help!
Maybe you know some people who can do something to present the Trenchtown Festival and to step in organization with us and to help us. We don't search for money. We just want to show to the world that here in Serbia existing place very different than rest of Serbia and Balkan.
Also on the Trenchtown there is great number of young and very quality reggae bands who are never been invited to perform in Europe or any festival out of Serbia, Croatia nad Bosnia, never have professional record because they do not have money to record a album. I think that our Bands can be very interesting for festivals around Europe but nobody know for them and when they hear that they are from Serbia their chance to be invited are minimum. I have more than 20 regage dub ragga bands on my contact list from Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia...
Or you have some other ideas maybe? Please let me know about your opinion.
Please consider my mail and every your answer negative or positive will be respected.
Wish You all Good! Sinisa chowasiah@gmail.com

FROM CHEF MAYRA - WHAT THE HECK IS TEXTURED VEGETABLE PROTEIN?
|
Also known as textured soy protein, TVP is not tofu. It is, however, made from soy. TVP comes from defatted soy flour, which is a by-product of soybean oil, so it is plentiful in supply. It's also quick to cook and a great source of vegetable protein without all the fat.
TVP comes in small dry chunks resembling, well, dried vegetables more than anything, or in a finely-ground form. It's flavorless, but when you rehydrate it and add your own flavors, it makes a great protein-filled addition to many dishes calling for ground meat. Because of its varying texture, it’s versatile, and can take on the texture of many meats. For instance, it is excellent in chili, tacos, veggie burgers and soups.
A 43-gram serving of TVP contains 120 calories and 21 grams of protein and hardly any fat. Since it is so high in protein, it makes a great transition meat substitute; but since North Americans eat more protein than our bodies can process, you should gradually reduce or even eliminate TVP as well.
When TVP is used to replace meat in stews and soups, your family will hardly be able to tell the difference and since you can marinate it in many of the same sauces as meat, it can take on many flavors.
Though TVP is much healthier than most meats, it is still a high-protein processed food, and high-protein diets increase the rate at which you age. With minimal proteins and a high fruit and vegetable diet, youll achieve the best level of health.
Natural food stores, health food stores and large supermarkets generally carry TVP; check the bulk section if you can't find it. Chef Mayra 702 372 4709 SEE MY GALLERY - www.mychefmayra.com

REGGAES : :
Junior Marvin-Hanson, former lead-guitarist for Bob Marley, has a new album, WAILIN FOR LOVE. Junior was a key participant in Time Magazine's 'Album of the Century'; 1977's seminal Bob Marley and the Wailers release, EXODUS.
Since 1981, Marvin-Hanson has fronted the legendary Wailers Band, contributed to projects with indie-rock luminaries, OAR, performed on Saturday Night Live with Lenny Kravitz and served a celebrated stint as host of XM Radio's 'The Joint.'
WAILIN FOR LOVE contains 18 tracks of shimmering reggae and funk-pop-rock gold from a reigning member of reggae royalty, the British Hendrix himself, Junior Marvin-Hanson.
Acclaimed reggae historian Roger Steffens proclaims Junior Marvin-Hanson supplied the drive and irresistible energy to Bob Marley's stadium conquering live performances. His long-awaited solo album reveals the power and personality that Bob Marley so admired. After stints playing with Ike & Tina Turner and Steve Winwood, Junior joined Bob Marley in 1977. Upon becoming a member of The Wailers, Junior was paid a visit by Eric Clapton, who proceeded to give him his own Explorer guitar (the very one he used while a member of Cream). It was with this special guitar that Junior created the most identifiable and celebrated pieces of musicianship in the history of reggae music.
Over the past three decades Junior has also worked extensively with close friend and guitar visionary, Roger Mayer, who worked with Bob Marley and The Wailers on both EXODUS and KAYA.
Marvin-Hanson is launching an international tour in support of WAILIN FOR LOVE, in Europe, United States and Asia. Accompanying Junior on this global roots-rock-reggae campaign will be the highly esteemed keyboardist, Jean Roussell. In the past, Roussell has collaborated with the likes of Sting and Cat Stevens.
WAILIN FOR LOVE mixes old school roots reggae with both the energy of pop, and the abandon of masterfully executed alternative rock. With this release, Junior Marvin-Hanson delivers an album truly worthy of the long held expectations of reggae fans across the globe.
