Qigong Level 1-Qigong for Health II
Level 1- Qigong for Health II (5 practices - Prerequisite: Level 1 -Qigong for Health I) In this series we explore the primary practice of Qigong Level 1, focusing on the Taoist alchemic practice Xiao Zhou Tian (Small Cosmic Orbit aka microcosmic orbit) which contains: Using the Sound to Guide Qi through the Orbit, Nourishing Qi Method, Gathering Qi Method, Secret Method of Opening the Orbit, and Supplementary Method of Opening the Orbit. Our workshop together also includes the theories on Eight Success Factors, group Dynamic Qigong practice, and some medical Qigong healing practice. Small Cosmic Orbit practice is the first stage of the Daoist Neidan Gong practice to transform Jing into Qi. It was also known in the ancient time as "Human Immortality Gong" . Heavenly Essence (Tian Hua) Qigong system evolved this traditional practice and calls its method “Accelerated Small Cosmic Orbit Method” which combines the ancient wisdom with a more direct and simpler approach to this traditionally esoteric practice. What a Tassajara Qigong season in 2008!
What you see here are the smiling faces from this year's Tassajara Healing with Zen and Qigong workshop during the Labor Day weekend! The group ranges in age from 30's to 80's and comes from as near as California and as far as Japan. The healing effect from Zen and Qigong is shared with you here with this poem by Kirk Fuller who is one of the participants. Thanks for again for coming to Tassajara Zen and Qigong! Hope to see you all in Tassajara in 2009! Deep Bow by Kirk Fuller As with all things our class has come to and end. There was beauty and perfection in the moment. Then the moment left us..... It left us with an understanding of impermanence. It left us with the tools to take forward to unravel the next mysteries in this life. The moment also gave us the brilliance of gathering life force, energy, healing exercise and happiness. But the moment really gave us each other and that moment will stand always. 'With Smiling faces'

Insight of Qigong Practice
The Process of Practice
by Petra Duffoo
After the recent Qigong In-the-world Intensive Week practicing twice a day, three hours a day, it’s clear to me that I am not a daily dynamic Qigong practiconer. In fact, my practice only visits the Dynamic exercises once or twice a week, at best, and as much as I would like to claim more, I found that after the Qigong week was over, I wanted to be completely honest, it was torture. After discussing this a little with one of the senior students, I realized that the process of developing practice for me is just as important as the practice itself.
Perhaps it is a goal of mine to become a daily dynamic practicioner, perhaps it’s not. But right now, my process of practice draws me to focus on the Qigong community and the Nourishing Qi method. That is my process right now - and being true to the now, I have discovered, is the only way for me to develop my practice in a lifetime way. In the past, when I have found a practice that I felt beneficial to myself, I created a set of rules for myself that dictated what the perfect practice needed to look like... and inevitably I would set myself up for failure. In this moment, I see that the perfect practice is one that works for you where you are, not any one else but you. The beauty of the Heavenly Essense Qigong system is that it offers so many variations of practice that there is bound to be one or two that calls to you, others that you hate and learn to love and then even others that require little effort at all (for me, that’s the tip of my tongue always at the roof of my mouth and a smile on my face). And that even more – being flexible and forgiving but still committed about practice will allow it to continue to deepen through all the set backs and traumas that will continue to happen in life.
