We are proud to share periodic updates with our City Guide businesses in our new e-newsletter. We want you to know about everything we are doing drive more visitors to your door by showcasing your business in the hotels, in full color, on their new, big screen televisions.
Best of all, our ad rates have not increased in four years. We believe that technology should keep ad costs down, not increase them. We keep our overhead low, and pass the savings on to you.
Visitors’ surveys establish that hotel guests do not want to hunt through confusing websites or search the lobby for brochures – in this challenging economy, they want to get their information promptly and easily. Busy people are turned off by advertising pieces and magazine clutter. Your Digital City Guide appears as part of the hotel information channel which is there to serve guests. Our digital signage is the fastest-growing marketing and communications medium. It replaces conventional paper signs and posters with electronic signs using liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and plasma screens.
It would cost you MUCH more in staff time and gas to drive around to all the hotels when we can do the work for you.
Digital signage is so effective that even Google is in on it! “High-Impact” Messages to Your Target Audience at the Right Time & Place. Digital signage has proven itself to deliver high-impact messages to very specific, target audiences at just the right time and place--when the guest is most receptive to the message and can act upon it.
Millennial Generation: All Digital, All the Time: The millennial generation grew up on MTV, HDTV, PDAs and flat-screen computer displays, so they have high expectations of media and messaging. This generation of employees and consumers are growing up "digital" and are plugged into it 24/7. They represent about 25 percent of the buying power in the US economy. These 75 million millennials, born between 1980 and 2000, are nearly as large as the Baby Boomer generation. They are multicultural, talented, influential and optimistic. And they are impatient--like it or not, we have to reach them in the hotel rooms when they first arrive!
Knock-Knock, Nobody Home: In today's fast-paced, mobile society no one stays home any more. And even when consumers are at the hotel they seek privacy. They make every effort possible to keep marketers, advertisers and sales people from invading their space in-person, online and on their phones, using ways such as:
1) Filtering email or mass-deleting messages altogether 2) Avoiding advertising-based online sites, and 3) "Skipping" or fully ignoring online ads and filtering pop-ups. Digital signage provides the best means for reaching consumers when they are out of their homes and at a time when they are most receptive to receiving information and acting upon it – when they are in their hotel room ready to eat and shop -- they don't have kitchens and have to eat three times a day with money to spend.

GREEN GREAT NEWS FOR THE FUTURE OF HOTEL INFORMATION: We are constantly working with our favorite brand hotel chains to make our in-house hotel channel and Digital City Guide the approved method of providing hotel information in the rooms. Our green technology replaces old, in-room guest books. Books are expensive to update, waste paper, cannot be designed in full-color, and are easily lost, torn and dirtied. Not only do we update our Digital Guide on the TV monthly, we NOW print a NEW map each month with new events and information about your specials so guests can grab one as they leave the hotel and head directly to you. Maps are printed as needed SO THERE IS NO WASTE.
NEW CROSS PROMOTION: We are selecting a City Guide Business of the Month from each location to run in other locations so we can encourage visits to a particular city, and to your business, even before a traveler arrives in your city. When a visitor turns on the TV at the Corvallis Hilton Garden Inn, he or she will see an ad for a Bend restaurant. Newport resort guests will see an ad for a Corvallis restaurant and so forth.
Upgrade your ad to flash video for only $175.00 and give hotel guests a large-screen virtual tour of your business on their TV. Here are some examples from our favorite City Guide restaurants and shops: Bates Steakhouse Eugene
Aqua Corvallis
Oregon Coast Aquarium - one of the nation's Top Ten Aquariums
Marz Bistro Bend
The fabulous Mercantile in Portland
The Willamette Valley Grill - voted Salem's best new restaurant, congrats!
