Spaghetti and Meatballs is always the Answer!

For those of you who live nearby, I imagine you are not too delighted about the cold weather were having. From going to the car to my front door, my fingers were frozen! I am very fond of lots of heaters, electric blankets, comforters, layers of sweaters and socks at this time, but I realized that I needed something more - something inside me to warm me. And, then, today ~ someone very dear to me did an extraordinary act of kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness. It was huge. I have always known how fortunate I am to have this person in my life. But, today I felt, special. Just thinking about how someone can do acts of kindness on a regular basis warms my soul. It made me recall a simple one around 4 years ago. I was recovering from a complication to surgery. My father had traveled up from Florida to help assist me with my recovery. (A gift that is indescribable) It was very painful for me to walk. I could not drive. One winter day, we had spent a rather torturous day in New York City at a hospital and, then, a torturous long commute home. That evening, the door bell rang and it was a delivery man with a hot Italian meal from a local restaurant. I told him he must be mistaken - that we had not ordered anything. He said, that the couple next door had ordered it for us! I couldn't believe it. I had hardly spoke to this couple in 15 years. How would they know that this was exactly what both my father and I needed at that moment? Subsequently, I learned that they observed what was occurring and simply wanted to help. This experience has always stayed with me, reminding me "How can I step outside of myself today and express to someone, I care?"

What could you do tomorrow for someone who least expects it?

Wishing all of you warmth in your soul, smiles in your spirit and heaven in your heart.

Take care and be well,

Sue
