Important Meeting Coming February 26 At City Hall - You're Invited
|
Join your fellow citizens who are concerned about our estuary at a Rivers Coalition meeting Feb. 26 11 a.m. at Stuart City Hall.
We'll have coffee and donuts to get you reved up as we continue the long battle to stop the damaging discharges from Lake Okeechobee into the St. Lucie canal and estuary.
We are making headway but the victory requires persistence and patience.

Website to be Explored!
|
A new "Water Watchers Calendar" has been added to our website, to provide interested citizens with dates of important meetings involving the Everglades and estuaries. Just click and go. This and other aspects of the website will be shown and discussed briefly at the Feb. 26 meeting.
The website also features a presentation of the proposed River of Grass Restoration Reserve, which the Rivers Coalition endorses and urges everyone to support as a "bonus" for the public beyond the basic function of providing a storage-flowway and large saving of water now wasted to tide.

Don't Let 'Em Kill the Sugar Buy!
|
Certain special interests are determined to kill the State's plan to purchase U.S. Sugar lands, so it's critical that we all stand tall and insist on this historic reform.
We will explain a special perspective we can adopt to show that this Sugarland Purchase is a true bargain and could replace a deeply flawed concept in the 2000 Restoration Program.
We'll be looking for you down by our riverside...
