Interesting and valuable fitness, health & wellness factoids:
According to a recent ACSM study, it was determined that salsa dancing raised a participant's heart rate to a sufficient intensity to cardiovascular improvement. Dancing salsa in a nightclub was especially intense. So dance the night away - it can serve as your aerobic activity! Several types of dance are also great for working the abdominal muscles.
According to a recent Wake Forest University School of Medicine study, farm raised tilapia may be detrimental for one's health, especially for those with heart disease, asthma, and arthritis. Tilapia was found to have a high level of inflammatory Omega-6 fatty acids, and low levels of healthy Omega-3's. In fact, the inflammatory potential of farm raised tilapia was found to be greater than that of doughnuts, bacon, and 80% lean ground beef. The reason: farm raised tilapia is generally corn fed.
Caffeine, in several studies, has been shown to improve endurance and lessen muscle pain during intense workouts.
