BIO-

Rick Sikorski packed his personal belonging into the back of a pickup truck and headed for the U.S. boarder from his native Canada to pursue what he thought was going to be a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. 

When he got to Scottsdale, Arizona, he decided to dump his original idea and follow his true passion… personal training. 

At age 21, Rick applied his knowledge of psychology and weight training, along with a passion for fitness and a desire to help people to open the fist Fitness Together training studio. 

Launching his fitness career in 1983 was a very humbling experience.  Rick Lived and trained in his 400-sq.-ft. studio.  He used a sleeping bag for a bed, cooked his meals in a microwave, and had to sell his car for working capital and equipment purchases. 

Through several setbacks, Rick remained fiercely determined to make his business grow.  Within 14 years he had four studios in operation, and sever4al high-profile clients, including Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac and Leona and Harry Helmsley, the real-estate magnates from New York.

Working 75-80 hours every week with no paid vacations, Rick knew he wanted more time with his wife, Elizabeth, and children, Petra and Gunnar.  He decided to leverage his time and talents to create a better life.  With the help of strategic business planners and attorneys, he created what is now recognized as the largest personal training organization in the world – FITNESS TOGETHER.  Within 14 months, the company sold their first franchise.  Today, working out of their corporate Headquarters near Denver, Colorado, they continue to open new franchises every week.
