By Rev. Edee Root

I am sure most of us have heard the saying “be careful what you wish for”, but have you ever considered this can also apply to our prayer life? Jesus taught that when we pray, we need to believe we will receive what we are praying for (Matt 21:17). That seems to be pretty straightforward, but stop to think for a moment. Do our spoken words echo our earnest desires to answered prayer, or do we waver back and forth as stated in James 1:8. When we pray in faith, we need to stay in faith, knowing God hears and always answers. Our task is to think, act and speak as though our prayers were already answered. When we are open to the guidance and direction of God, His Spirit kingdom and the Angelic realm, there is no doubt we are operating on the same frequency, so to speak. That is why we must be very diligent with our words, that they agree with what we are praying for.
Affirmations are a very real help in enabling us to stay focused on the desired outcome of our prayers, and to ensure we are staying centered in God as the Source of our fulfillment. There can really be no other way to answered prayer without realizing everything comes from the Source, our Creator.
It also takes faith and perseverance, oftentimes hard to come by, when there are no signs our prayers have been heard, or when our minds tell us “it will never happen”, or “I'm not worthy of this”, and other similar thoughts. But even then, we are using our faculty of faith, faith in the possibility of a negative outcome. Worry, doubt and fear produce like results in our experiences. It takes conscious effort to keep our thoughts focused on staying positive when we are going through health challenges, losses of any kind, or other issues in our lives. Often, a simple affirmation such as “Father, I am trusting”, or remembering Jesus tell us ...”let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27), is all that is needed to bring us back into an inner knowing that all is well, and Gods' good is on its way. Expect it. When we stay centered on the God Presence, how can answered prayers, better circumstances and blessings beyond our expectations not be the result of our rightly placed faith.
Take a moment and reflect on another simple, yet profound truth. Our thoughts have the power to change our lives far beyond what we think possible. When we remember that “like attracts like”, and “as within, so without”, it is very important to keep our thoughts positive and in harmony with our prayers, our hopes and dreams and in our everyday lives. This extends to the words we speak, as they are the result of our thoughts.
We were never meant to do it all by ourselves. God is able, willing and wanting to help us, but first we must ask Him for that help. There are also times when we feel the need to “help” God with whatever situation, condition or circumstance that is challenging us. However, when we take it to Him in faith and trust and leave it there, the results are far better and more lasting, because they have come from the Source of all good, and as children of God, we should expect no less than the highest and best in our lives.
Finally, “whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind, and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things. (fix your minds on them). Phil 4:8 AMP

Love and blessings to all.

The following is a reference to
automatic writing and automatic drawing. This scripture mentions the hand of God which has always included His Spirit and His spirit-world. By what is written it is evident that King David was a highly developed writing medium and this has lead me to conclude that the Psalms of David were received by this form of mediumship.

1 Chronicles 28: 1-28

1Ch 28:1 And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his , with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem.
1Ch 28:2 Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building:
1Ch 28:3 But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood.
1Ch 28:4 Howbeit the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to me king over all Israel:
1Ch 28:5 And of all my sons, (for the LORD hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel.
1Ch 28:6 And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
1Ch 28:7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day.
1Ch 28:8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever.
1Ch 28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
1Ch 28:10 Take heed now; for the LORD hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
1Ch 28:11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,
1Ch 28:12 And the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things:
1Ch 28:13 Also for the courses of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the vessels of service in the house of the LORD.
1Ch 28:14 He gave of gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of all manner of service; silver also for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service:
1Ch 28:15 Even the weight for the candlesticks of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every candlestick, and for the lamps thereof: and for the candlesticks of silver by weight, both for the candlestick, and also for the lamps thereof, according to the use of every candlestick.
1Ch 28:16 And by weight he gave gold for the tables of shewbread, for every table; and likewise silver for the tables of silver:
1Ch 28:17 Also pure gold for the fleshhooks, and the bowls, and the cups: and for the golden basons he gave gold by weight for every bason; and likewise silver by weight for every bason of silver:
1Ch 28:18 And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubims, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
1Ch 28:19 All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern.
1Ch 28:20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.
1Ch 28:21 And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.  KJV

I've been having on going software problems since January when my old computer crashed.  I replaced it and now Windows Vista on my new notebook doesn't like some of the software that I had been using.  Working with my software's technical support staff it has been determined that the website will have to be completely rebuilt.  With that in mind I've been trying other software but so far haven't found anything that will do everything that I'm already doing in addition to those things that I would like to do in the future without spending a small fortune.  Whether I stay with my present software or begin to use another, watch for frequent changes beginning sometime in August.  New look, new feel and new content.

Adapted from Pillipians 4:19

My God supplies all of my need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Your prayer request will be held in strict confidence by our Prayer Warriors as they continue to pray with and for you during the next 30 days.

"Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Phillipians 4: 6-7

The F.S.C. is in need of volunteers who are willing to work hard to move this church into our next stage of existence by serving as Trustees on our Board of Directors. We are looking for persons of vision who are willing to take us through a paradigm shift of what a Spiritualist Church is and does, including the style of Worship Service. Volunteers must agree with our Articles of Faith. Our meetings will be held by conference call so you don't have to be local to the Flint area.  An email account is required to receive our reports and other communications.  If you would like to serve in this capacity please contact Rev. Rick Root at or (810) 513-5481 thank you.

1 Chronicles 28:1-28

Writing and drawing mediumship manifests in different forms from inspired to the automatic, and is a wonderful tool to begin a quest to come into communion with the spirit-world; in the highest sense, to come into communion with God and our Lord and Master Jesus by His spirit-world. For God has always used His spirit-world to communicate with mankind, and this spirit-world is at the disposal of the lord Jesus, and is a tool he uses to build, strengthen and perfect his church.
For the Christian Spiritualist, oneness with God manifests through becoming one with the Master Jesus, who is already one with God. (John Chapter 17) This oneness manifests through a living communion with him. Not only does he manifest himself unto us, but we also hear the voice of the Good Shepard through communication with His spirit-world.
For the purpose of this lesson I will use the term “writing medium”, but what is taught here can be equally applied to drawing mediumship and even other forms which include the mediumship of the musician.
The inspirational writer knows what is being written even if it's only a few words ahead of what's on the page, but the automatic writer only knows they are writing, not what is being written. The inspirational writer will always be conscious, but may manifest light stages of trance similar to a day dreamy state, whereas the automatic writer may go into various stages of trance from light to total unconsciousness and everywhere in between. Please be aware that trance is not needed to manifest either form of writing mediumship. And it is not unusual for the writing medium to move from the automatic to the inspirational and back again at various times in their spiritual work as the spirit wills.
It is said that those who doodle unconsciously make excellent writing or drawing mediums.
Inspirational writing mediumship manifests in different ways, from spirit placing thoughts in your mind which you then write down, to spirit with power placing thoughts within your mind which you are then compelled to write.
To begin, sit and intensely concentrate upon our Master Jesus for at least 5 minutes. Say a prayer expressing your desire for the grace of coming into communication with him through the spirit-world at his command. Ask for a holy spirit to be your spiritual guide and teacher. Then relax your mind and body and begin to write (or type) everything that comes into your thoughts, (what is called train of consciousness), no matter how odd or trivial. Write as fast as you can for 10 minutes or so, and only then stop and read what has been written. You may find a message somewhere in your writing that didn't come from you; guidance, encouragement or even knowledge you need to meet a need or an answer to prayer. Then again you might just get a lot of nothing at first, but persist and it will begin to happen.
During my early years in Spiritualism I received messages for my earthly teacher, Rev. Pearl Reinhardt, from members of her band of guides and workers in the realm of spirit that I had no prior knowledge of. They would give their name, and provided the proof that I was receiving from spirit in this form.
During the practice of inspired writing you will learn to discern what is your own thought and that which is the vibrational thought of spirit. This was driven home to me when I heard two very different thoughts in my mind at the same time. My own and spirit's. This is also an excellent way to develop the ability to hear the vibrational voice of God's spirit messengers within your mind and soul that is a part of the manifestation of clairsentience..
With practice, you can develop inspirational writing to where you can just sit and it comes without the train of consciousness work; even further where you are under the power of a holy spirit and are compelled to write what he or she places within your mind. This is the highest form of inspirational writing mediumship.
When developed, inspirational writing mediumship is just as viable as any other form of channeling.
The musician can develop the ability to play inspired music, and we have an excellent medium for this type of spiritual work living in Fenton, MI, Fr. Andrew Rogers. You can hear a tract from his Angelic Whisperings CD on the Meditation page of the FSC website. He also does Music Readings and you can get more information on him and his readings by following the link at the bottom of this page entitled LINKS.
To begin to develop automatic writing, sit and intensely concentrate directly upon our Master Jesus for at least 5 minutes and then say a prayer expressing your desire for the grace of coming into communication with him through the spirit-world at his command. Ask for a holy spirit to be your spiritual guide and teacher. Then relax your mind and body, and place your pen upon the paper before you. Keep your hand relaxed, and don't pay attention to what your hand is doing. If necessary, keep eyes closed or focused elsewhere. If you have difficulty keeping your mind relaxed, contemplate something high and holy, or just think about the Master Jesus. Your hand may begin to jerk or move on it's own; allow it to do so. At first, you may get just some scribbling or a symbol, or nothing at all. Development of automatic writing is like working a muscle that has never been used; at first it has little strength, but with time, gets much stronger. When words manifest, they will at first be linked (similartothis), and you will have to separate them later. But with development, the spirit-world will be able to place the spaces and punctuation necessary for you to comprehend what they have written without the extra effort on your part. You can later, with development, move to a typewriter or computer keyboard, but you will have to train yourself to yield both hands to the spirit's control.
Writing this has brought back the memory of my first time working with automatic writing, which took place right around my 17th birthday. I took a clipboard to bed with a sheet of paper on it, turned off the light, said a prayer, laid down, and placed the clipboard upon my solar plexus and a pen upon the paper. My hand began to jerk, and seemed to me, to be going all over the page. In my mind, it seemed like I was just getting a bunch of scribbling. What seemed to me to be around an hour ( in reality it was only a half hour), my hand stopped. I got up and turned on the light, and in the middle of that page I saw one small word that said, “good”. That was my first experience. Then I didn't get anymore results for a while, other than my hand jerking about and a few scribbles. (the posture noted above is not recommended , since it places an obstacle in spirit's way.)
As you develop as a writing medium, you will begin to receive messages of encouragement from your loved ones in spirit. We are always blessed when they come, but loved ones may or may not be on the path to becoming holy spirits. Regardless, they are not what is termed a holy spirit, as you are reaching much higher than they. We in no way block our loved ones from communicating with us, but we also do not hold them back from spiritual progression out of our desire for healing or closure. We don't place them, or ourselves, in any kind of bondage out of their, or our, desire to communicate. In this way, they don't hold us back, nor do we hold them back on the spiritual path. Rather, we encourage them to progress God-ward. In this way, when they come in God's time and to His purpose, they truly are a blessing.
For the Christian Spiritualist, the correct pattern is to channel what is sent by our Master Jesus through the spirit-world at his command. By doing so, not only do we progress spiritually, but our loved ones in spirit progress also, and even those in the realm of spirit who are attracted to the light of it. Through the revelations and insight we receive from Christ, our channeling is a ministry of spiritual progression to both realms. (Ephesians 3:9-10) You may even be thanked by those in the spirit-world that have progressed through this type of ministry. I have.

Love and light.
