'DEYANSA AND RIDDIM ZONE' NOMINATED FOR REGGAE AWARD!
Silver Kamel Audio recording artists ‘Deyansa and Riddim Zone’ has been nominated for an award in the reggae category out of over 500,000 songs!

Congratulations to ‘Deyansa and Riddim Zone’ who have been nominated for an award in the reggae category/genre of the ‘Just Plain Folks’ music award show that will be held at the Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville, TN on the 29th of August 2009.

Deyansa’s CD Holding On To Life was produced and released by Silver Kamel at the end of 2005 and was 18 months in the making. Deyansa wrote the lyrics for the songs and then hooked up with fellow Jamaicans, Keith Senior and Jonathan T. Ford who created the backing tracks. The band has toured with such reggae dignitaries as Culture, Meditations, Augustus Pablo, Cutty Ranks, and even Gregory Isaacs! Giving their able support on tours that took them throughout the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.

Keith Senior and Jonathan Ford have been session musicians
for Coxsone Dodd, Lee “The Upsetter” Perry, and Ms. Pottinger performing on many hit songs. They also worked on such great projects as “The Black Ark Dub” and “The Upsetters” albums. Keith is a multi-talented musician who is very comfortable in the studio no matter what instrument you place in front of him, keyboards, bass and rhythm guitar, or drums. Jonathan is an accomplished bass player and was one of the original members of the Rhythm 1000 band.

Rounding off the core of Riddim Zone is Ian Joseph, a drummer with a passion who hails from the tropical islands of Trinidad & Tobago. He joined the band two years ago after touring in Asia.  Listen to the tracks here: http://www.myreggaespace.com/Deyansa

‘Just Plain Folks’ (JPF) started the award process and had an amazing response, receiving over 500,000 songs from bands and musicians from all over the world! And it wasn’t till June of this year (2009), that we received the good news of their nomination. If you would like to attend the award show or find out who else was nominated and to see if you qualify to vote go here:
http://www.jpfolks.com

So it is with great pride and pleasure that we offer our sincere congratulations to Deyansa on his achievement of being in the Top Ten nominated in the reggae category/genre for his track ‘Holding On To Life.

INNER CIRCLE THE INTL. BAD BOYS SET TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM AUGUST 25TH 2009
photo from Live Miami Magazine
This year reggae music is booming and coming back with a bang
. One of the world's most respected reggae groups, Inner Circle, is about to release a big hit album. They are well known for the Cops theme song "Bad Boys”,"Sweat", and won two Grammy awards. After working for over 20 years in the reggae scene, they are now taking things to the next level.

Inner Circle's soothing melody and grass root beats bring a soulful touch to the poetry they sing about in their new album, 'State of da World'. Their lyrical truths about life are straightforward and insightful. Artists like Damien Marley, Luciano, Morgan Heritage, Jr. Reid, Slightly Stupid are all featured on the album. Their new hit single is called "Never Give Up"featuring reggae star Jah Driver. State of da World has been worked on with Abebe Lewis Marketing & Branding Group and will release on August 25, 2009 by Shanachie/ Koch Records.

In more music news, the Caribbean is streaming big soca tunes all over the world.
Kevin Lyttle, known as the‘King of Soca’; one of the only soca artists to crossover internationally, is coming back hard for 2009. He is releasing pop hits that have a Caribbean feel. Kevin has a new song called "Love Come on Out" releasing in August. His upcoming album features artists like Flo Rida, Shaggy and Gravy. He also has a new upbeat hit single called "Jam Dem," featuring Allison Hinds that was produced by Lil John. Staying in tune with the strictly soca lovers, he also has an upcoming soca album releasing in the near future.

Tashai Houston : : Gospel
New Reggae Gospel Artist - Tashai Houston

After a treat of listening to gospel sensation Tashai Houston live on stage you may want to ask her the question‹"Are you related to Whitney?" And it's no surprise where the root of your question would have been derived. She is gifted with the ability to hold extended high notes without tapping into the reservoir of her limitless falsetto. The passion and conviction of her delivery mirrors that of the multi Grammy award winning diva.

Tashai Houston was born March 15, 1981 in the district of Alexandria in the parish of St. Ann, Jamaica. She grew up in a nearby district called Philadelphia and attended the Philadelphia Church of God. Her passion and gift for singing landed her the position of local star and the church praise and worship leader. Her early experiences in the music industry included background vocal for a few budding recording Caribbean Gospel artists and bands. She revealed in this interview that she always felt deep down that she would record her own project and become a professional soloist as she realized and valued the impact her singing had on both her and her audience. "I came from humble beginnings but I know God called me to be a music minister and his call comes with provision so I waited patiently on Jehovah Jireh and now the fullness of time has come" were the psalmist's remarks to this new recording stage of her life. Tashai has recently recorded her debut singles: Sheltered in The Arms of God and I Give You the Glory Lord with veteran multi-award winning songwriter and producer Wayne Stoddart on Undiluted Muzik Record Label. The singles have been released on radio stations worldwide (including xml radio) and are now available in stores. The future of this artist is extremely bright and judging from the singles released we anticipate a timeless album from her.

Tashai now resides in Miami Florida and worships at Fellowship Church of God at Davie Florida under the leadership of Dr. F.A Beason where she serves as a member of the praise and worship team. She is currently pursuing a degree in Nursing at Broward Community College. Tashai says her philosophy is based on 1 Corinthians 13:1 because she believes love is the key to unlock every closed door. Perfect love represents God because God is love and a heart of love is necessary for a minister to be truly effective.

A heart of love is what emanate from the two songs on this new Single
CD and it is a must have for all gospel and general music lovers!

WAGE PEACE BY Judyth Hill
Wage peace with your breath.

Breathe in firemen and rubble,
breathe out whole buildings and flocks of red wing blackbirds.

Breathe in terrorists
and breathe out sleeping children and freshly mown fields.

Breathe in confusion and breathe out maple trees.

Breathe in the fallen and breathe out lifelong friendships intact.

Wage peace with your listening: hearing sirens, pray loud.

Remember your tools: flower seeds, clothes pins, clean rivers.

Make soup.

Play music, memorize the words for thank you in three languages.

Learn to knit, and make a hat.

Think of chaos as dancing raspberries,
imagine grief as the outbreath of beauty or the gesture of fish.

Swim for the other side.

Wage peace.

Never has the world seemed so fresh and precious:

Have a cup of tea and rejoice.

Act as if armistice has already arrived.
Celebrate today.
