Queen Omega hails from Trinidad, where she began entering local talent shows at age 9. Raised in a musical family, she grew up listening to soul artists like Aretha Franklin, Anita Baker, and Whitney Houston, as well as jazz and the traditional music of Trinidad. Such foundations served her well later on; her favorites, however, were reggae and dancehall. In 2000 she met producer Mickey D and has collaborated with him on three CDs and several hit singles, which along with many well-received live performances have made Queen Omega a trailblazer for female roots reggae artists. Alan “EayGee” Gordon, grew up in the Bay Area influenced by Augustus Pablo, King Tubby, and other reggae greats as well as conscious hip-hop artists such as KRS-One. Public Property : : Work To Do

Much has been said about Public Property's Midwest origins as a white reggae band hailing from Iowa City, IA. After three albums, 3 years, and hundreds of gigs, the group no longer need defend itself from sceptics or critics who believe reggae is one color and comes from one place. Add female vocalists, a ukulele, and lyrics as controversial as Bob Marley himself, it's no wonder this band has risen so quickly in the U.S. reggae and jam scenes as one of the top nationally touring reggae acts. Carlos Jones & the PLUS Band has been one of the top regional draws over the last 5 years, performing at clubs, festivals, and concerts such as Cleveland House of Blues, Midwest Reggae Festival, Springfield (OH) Arts Festival, Nelson’s Ledges Quarry Park, The Tall Ships Festival, and the Kneadmore Reggae Festival.
