1 Samuel 3:1-21 KJV
This scripture is a reference to childhood mediumship and clairaudience
It also shows that our gifts of mediumship can reveal God to ourselves and others.
"And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision. (2) And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see; (3) And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep; (4) That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. (5) And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down. (6) And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again. (7) Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him. (8) And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. (9) Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. (10) And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. (11) And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. (12) In that day I will perform against Eli all things which I have spoken concerning his house: when I begin, I will also make an end. (13) For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not. (14) And therefore I have sworn unto the house of Eli, that the iniquity of Eli's house shall not be purged with sacrifice nor offering for ever. (15) And Samuel lay until the morning, and opened the doors of the house of the LORD. And Samuel feared to shew Eli the vision. (16) Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I. (17) And he said, What is the thing that the LORD hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee. (18) And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good. (19) And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground. (20) And all Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of the LORD. (21) And the LORD appeared again in Shiloh: for the LORD revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of the LORD."
A message bearer's affirmation.
"The LORD God is with me and works through me,  therefore none of my words fall to the ground."
A medium's affirmation.
"The LORD God is revealed in and through my gifts of mediumship."

Imagine a conversation between two people. Each speaks and hears from their experience. Under the surface what moves us are our emotions; they affect how we see and hear. Imagine that one of the people has a need to control because of lack of trust in the universe. Most of us fit into that category at various points in our lives. When you operate from that level you are always in the future. You are not here in the present moment, and because you aren’t, misinterpretation results. The person who is listening, having heard what the other said and the way they said it, feels the tentacles of control starting to surround them, and they react to that threat…usually because they have had past experiences with that issue. The non-listener has pushed one of their buttons, and alienation results.
This scenario occurs daily in everyone’s life. The problem is that in these situations, the disharmonic energy that is produced continues. The next time you meet each other you step into the residue of those emotions…you are still in the past. There are two aspects to this. One is that without forgiveness there can be no change - you have to let go of your perception/ misperception and see that person as they truly are. Forgiveness gives space for growth. The second aspect is resentment which constricts and holds prisoners. You will quickly find yourself in murky emotional water, and without clarity you will never see what is really transpiring. Things can get really nasty between people, and those around them may be wondering what is going on. Why are they at each other’s throats? But because the two individuals are trapped in the drama, they don’t see the whole picture. And their associates, figuring it isn’t any of their business, don’t say anything. They are embarrassed.
There have been conversations in my life that I have regretted, words said that were inappropriate or hurtful. In the past few years I have realized that most of what goes on isn’t about me, and I have strived to not take things personally. But, I still slip back into those old patterns. The difference is that now, within minutes I will tell the person I am sorry, that I didn’t mean what I said, and I will explain what planet I was coming from. And the amazing thing is that it resonates within them, they understand because they have been there too! As a result we are on new ground. How liberating that has been! There is nothing like allowing change.
“If two make peace with each other in this one house, they will say to the mountain, ‘Move away.’ and it will move away.” The Gospel of Thomas, vs. 48.
Each of us has been both the witness and the actor in the play called “I said, you said.” It happens between individuals, between neighborhoods, between organizations, and between nations. It is important that we speak from truth, and that we correct misunderstandings when they come up, not later or never. Clear the air, clean the space. We have the gifts of thought, word and creation… make them good ones.
Become a good listener – which means listen without judgment. Listen from the heart. If you are hearing it differently, make sure that the other person knows, and strive for mutual understanding. Be compassionate. Words are things…we create the road block, either singularly or jointly. “Who” is not the question, but the answer is “All is One.” As the speaker, strive for illumination, not confusion. Non attachment to result yields communication of the highest order, because both are firmly in their divine presence instead of manipulating.
“He filled me with words of truth
that I may speak the same.
Like the flow of waters truth flows from my mouth,
and my lips reveal its harvest,
and it gives me the gold of knowledge
for the mouth of the Lord is the true word
and the door of his light.”
The Odes of Solomon, Ode 12
     The Other Bible
All of Christ’s actions, his words, his thoughts were one with God. He represented liberation from fear, the wisdom of allowance, the beauty of forgiveness, and the power of love. There is a beautiful Native American saying that I try to adhere to as my daily mantra…”Unto all things and all beings may we be as relatives.” That is a far reaching statement… even as far as “If I want to get along with my computer, I need to send love, not curses!”
One of Rumi’s poems says:
But don’t be satisfied with poems
     and stories of how things
     have gone with others.
     Unfold your own myth,
     without complicated explanation,
so everyone will understand the passage.
     …Your legs will get heavy
and tired. Then comes a moment
of feeling the wings you’ve grown, lifting.
The direction of all of this is summed up exquisitely in Tich Nhat Hanh’s simple statement that “real dialogue brings tolerance.” Real dialogue comes from true experience, which means you cannot live your life vicariously through other people, through TV, through the National Enquirer. You must live it authentically, you must be there.
“This above all, to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.” Hamlet - William Shakespeare
Not only be there for the experience, but be who you truly are - not a figment of someone’s imagination, not the self that others have created for you. Know that God is within and without, that you are safe, you are loved, you are blessed, you are whole, and you are the potential for good. Communications that occur with love as the common ground transcend all concepts of superiority, indifference, intolerance.
One of my husband Dan’s favorite Rumi poems starts out with “Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”
Each day I plant my feet anew in that field so that day’s experiences/opportunities will be met by my authentic self rooted in Christ consciousness, within which all things are possible. I’ll meet you there…the wild flowers are beautiful.

There is something inside each of us that instinctively knows there is more to life than what we are experiencing, whether it is better health, more money, a better job, or other things that are important to us. But we remain unsatisfied, even when our needs are seemingly met. Something tells us there is more to life than this.
Where does this inner restlessness come from? I believe it is our spirit searching for a closer connection and relationship with God. It doesn't matter what our individual belief system may be, there is that inner longing that cannot be satisfied from outside ourselves. We search for the keys to this closeness in books, through meditation, attending seminars and lectures, etc. However the chosed method, it leads us back to ourselves and the realization the keys lie within us.
Now, at last, we come to the heart of the matter. If the keys to drawing closer to God and feeling at one with Him, are truly within, then what is it that we must do.
This is where praise and thanksgiving have their rightful place. By praising God in all things, no matter how the circumstance, condition or situation looks, it will bring Him into them and turn things around. When God is at work, truly at work in our lives, amazing and astounding things happen. It has happened in my own life, and I am sure I am not alone. God wants to be a part if our lives. “Come close to God and He will come close to you” . . . James 4:8 AMP. The more we praise Him for moving in and through our lives, the more alive and meaningful our relationship with Him becomes. Thanksgiving naturally follows, as we see our lives become transformed. As someone once told me, “when praises go up, blessings come down”. And it is true. There are many, many hymns that have praise as their foundation. Numerous scriptures refer to praise and thanksgiving as being a very important part of our spiritual life.
No matter what the conditions of our lives are right now, no matter where we have been, or what we feel we need to be truly happy, praise opens the door for a transformed life.
I would like everyone to try this for one day: Everything that happens, praise God for it, good or not so good. Every person who crosses your path, praise God for him/her. Thank Him for giving you exactly what you need for this one day. At the end of the day, look back and reflect on how different this day seemed in relation to your other days. If you noticed the difference for this one day, think how much more your life would be blessed if this became your daily pattern of living!
Only by opening our hearts, mind, soul and spirit to the infinite goodness of God, can we live a truly joyous, blessed and meaningful life. Look within and find the treasures that are waiting to be discovered: a deeper closeness with Him, a new awareness and appreciation of what we have already been given, and what He is blessing us with now.
Finally, “O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endures forever!” Ps 107:1 AMP
