Come Open the Cabinet of Curiosities

This year we invite you to open the Cabinet of Curiosities and discover what treasures lay inside for you.

We draw our creative inspiration from 17th century Europe, when the wealthy and the well-traveled collected beautiful, grotesque and obscure things into encyclopedic collections known as "cabinets of curiosities."

In our erotic interpretation, the cabinet will hold a fantastical celebration of the arts. You'll find wonders and treasures - come explore.

Friday, April 30, 6pm-2am
Second Annual White Tie Affair -- Bring out your finery for the lavish opening celebration of Seattle's sexiest event. When you hear "white tie," do you imagine a necktie of silk... or a corset of rope? The choice is yours. This is your first chance to see what's inside the Cabinet of Curiosities. Are you ready? Dress to seduce and beguile. After midnight, unwind with us in a special late-night Festival lounge.

Saturday, May 1, 6pm-4am
Carnival of Curiosities -- The closing night of the Festival is our spectacular annual costume ball, when all the secrets of the Cabinet will be revealed. You don't want to miss this. Prizes will be awarded for the most compelling and "curious" costumes, so strut out in your most daring, most provocative, and most creative attire. And remember: stay late and dance with us at one hell of an after-party.

These themes set the tone for each evening but are by no means requirements. We encourage you to attend the Festival in whatever you find sexy and comfortable.

The Exhibition opens at Noon daily for your viewing pleasure.

Tickets available now at Brown Paper Tickets.

Kevin MacDonald's custom made bed

How Erotic Is Your Bed?

Six teams of local metalworkers are undertaking a seductive project: crafting six unique beds to create luxurious lounge spaces for the 2010 Festival.

Beds are “erotically charged items,” says Kevin MacDonald, mastermind behind the project. “Not just because they’re a place where you have sex, but because of how tightly a bed folds into various parts of your life… a bed is definitely functional art, and I think it’s functionally erotic art.”

Artists have a chance to create an object of beauty, designed to embrace and entice participants.  Attendees have a chance to indulge the temptation – to lounge, interact with others, and explore some erotic tension. Will you choose to rest on these alluring beds?

MacDonald explains: “I like the idea of that transition from viewing erotic art to a place where eroticism might unfold…”
